Dussehra - Passing the culture and belief to next generation
Please the goddess without blood.
Every year on the occasion of Dussehra or Vijayadashami, we worship our vehicles, with a belief that, Divinity is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent and seek the blessings of the Goddess, to help us protect from any unfortunate events, while driving. And we clean all the vehicles as well as cycles, and make them ready for this occasion, which takes considerable amount of time and effort. The kids have cycles, so they were given the responsibility of taking care of them.
The bangles and new clothe is offered to the Goddess and then tied up to vehicles, and flowers are decorated.
And finally crush the lemons under the tires, of each vehicle with a belief that, the goddess will accept them and not seek for any blood, thus preventing any accident. These are some practices that I have been seeing and following since my childhood and time has come to pass these to our next generation, so I made sure both the kids take care of their vehicle (cycle) and learn this. Since it's a very busy day for the priest, we inform in advance and make sure to be ready by the time he comes. Sometimes, we do it ourselves as well, but the point is that, these beliefs are what makes us strong, giving mental piece and confidence - after all that is the most important factor of life, isn't it ?
The day went packed with me going to Nursery and bringing some saplings and putting them temporarily in pots, more to come on that. Then the pollution certificate of the vehicle was also due, so had to do that.
This guy sits just beside the filling station, so I have been getting it done there, it's all online process now, but he still gives a hard copy to carry and show in case of inspection.
Not sure, why the govt is so skeptic about private petrol vehicles and insisting a test every six month, the penalty is very big, in case not done, and that is the main cause of we making sure it's done in time. We don't have any rights to question the govt - that's the beauty of democracy.
And then the evening, was time to relax and enjoy - Dandia Nights festival celebrated in our society premise, with the ladies doing some nice performance, the movie will be released soon.
Life is all about passing the time with all these beautiful memories, isn't it ?

You are right, God resides in every particle, and this is our belief. Best wishes for Vijayadashami🙏
Same here. When anyone buy a car over here, we dedicate it to All Almighty God for protection against any form of casualty.
Namaste🙏 Sir, good belief and new thought you have presented, thanks for sharing and happy navratra🙏
Happy navratra🙏
Happy Navrathri. It was nice to know about the belief you have on this particular day. Hope the next generation follows that.
Such events that happen are very special in every country and they must be celebrated and it is a fact that if we do not tell the generation about them then they will not have any kind of information. The event will not be known and will live like that.
These are beautiful memories indeed! Culture is our way of life and cannot be separated from us.
I repeat, your culture is incredible and even more so with those cults and beliefs that help you be more careful when driving.
Awesome, I'm privileged to learn about this amazing faith and belief of yours. Thanks for sharing this with us and happy Vijayadashami celebration.
Each and every driver who is behind the wheel needs protection since you never know when you may need it, so all these rituals are very important to protect not only the vehicle but also us.
It's great to know that the tradition is continued and passed on to the next generation. Stay safe, you and your family.
