That little happiness

means a lot to them

20221210_213201.jpg

She wished me to take her to the Mahotsav and it gives immense pleasure to fulfill her wish. Mahotsav is a trade fair that are organized at different places and this one is hosted every year, very close to our home. Typically these big fairs are hosted during Winter, so that people can enjoy the fair without getting tired or sweating. Old people need too little but that little too much. She had asked me before two weeks if I can come, but then as you read my last post, I did not inform her about my accident, because I know, it will pinch her a lot. As I felt little better, I decided to seek her blessings first by going to my native and then narrate her the incidence. Seeing me fine makes her worry a little but what she told surprised me. She had real bad dreams just the previous night of the day of my accident which indicated something bad was about to come. Some may call this a coincidence, but it is some sort of warning that the divine gives us.

20221210_204513.jpg

Arrived early in the evening and after waling to the venue, she suggested we first have a glimpse of all the stalls before doing any purchase. There were a lot of crowd and the downside of these trade fairs are severe air pollution because of dust. So I advised her to wear a mask.

20221210_202321.jpg

20221210_202345.jpg

20221210_202505.jpg

The center of attraction was the musical melody being performed by live artists - long time back I had experienced. It's all free.

20221210_203242.jpg

20221210_203920.jpg

There was a sitting area and we enjoyed some moments there. And then she started the shopping. She has her list of things to look out - tea cup was one of them.

20221210_204806.jpg

20221210_204734.jpg

She did not find suitable ones in couple of shops - very specific about what she needs.

20221210_205520.jpg

20221210_205533.jpg

And finally, she found those small cups that would accommodate half big cup of tea. And the cost - only ten rupees each. You have to buy minimum six pieces giving sixty rupees, but that was affordable for everyone. We brought ten - six for her and four for my wife - she too likes small cups. The good thing about this cheap small cups is that, it does not pinch you, if it breaks or you discard after using for some times. The same cup with good quality will cost you sixty each in big shops. The quality does not matter a lot when it breaks 😀

20221210_205009.jpg

And then she was looking for something to take out the ash out of our wood chulah but this man was quoting a higher price - she knows how much they should charge.

20221210_204908.jpg

Artificial but beautiful and budget friendly flowers for home.

20221210_205116.jpg

20221210_205121.jpg

20221210_210834.jpg

Ever enjoyed this ? The moment when it comes down is a unique experience and me and my daughter love it. The place is full of such activities and this is the crowd puller.

20221210_205107.jpg

20221210_210825.jpg

We were back to our shopping.

20221210_205354.jpg

20221210_210725.jpg

Anything in this shop was ten rupees and she what she grabbed. Cost effective management - the tea filter is an everyday need.

20221210_210856.jpg

A jewellery shop where you can get jewelries that does not need insurance - thief will regret stealing it 😀

20221210_210903.jpg

The paan shop - preparing the next batch of deliverables.

20221210_210949.jpg

She bought a gold chain as well. Small things but look at the happiness at her face.

20221210_211217.jpg

The mega bangles shop - not cheap but she bought bangles because we went here - some memory.

20221210_211344.jpg

20221210_211028.jpg

All varieties of Ray-Ban glasses available here.

20221210_211110.jpg

A utility and decorative shop - did not have power, I felt, they should have arranged good lighting - to trigger sales. And then comes another main attraction of these fairs - some mouth watering foods.

20221210_211137.jpg

Some people are mad about these and come daily to just eat these.

20221210_211200.jpg

20221210_211953.jpg

20221210_211746.jpg

20221210_211805.jpg

20221210_212320.jpg

After some time my best friend joined us - he was busy but when he heard I am there, he postponed his work and joined us - with his son.

20221210_212239.jpg

Who does not love pickles !! You get lot of varieties at one place here.

20221210_212305.jpg

She got couple of packets of incense sticks - a packet costs 100/- and two 150/- , mind blowing pricing so that every one will get two thinking that its a loss otherwise.

20221210_212227.jpg

Another shop with some native products from the villages - she got a kg of Horsegram Dal - ever tasted it ? You would love it.

20221210_212955.jpg

20221210_213006.jpg

Coming back some other shops.

20221210_213545.jpg

20221210_213412.jpg

20221210_213655.jpg

20221210_213302.jpg

20221210_213341.jpg

20221210_213639.jpg

20221210_213713.jpg

Finally she got what she wanted. And another pickle shop - this one had more varieties.

20221210_213559.jpg

20221210_213856.jpg

Enjoying their sell - not a lot of profit but then they enjoy the time. And we enjoyed the time - it's these little happiness that matters a lot for them. The next morning as soon as my father got up, he was asking if I can bring some fish - a voracious non-veg lover who can eat every day, more than once.

20221211_085709.jpg

We don't get these export quality prawns , but luckily it was there. The price is a bit high at 900/- kg, but its less compared to cities. Got a kg of that and the other fish that dad asked for. And she cooked it nicely - we have a cook but since I was there, she was super charged to cook. It's these moments that inspires us to live for each other.

I hope you are doing well and recovered from that injury and trauma. Good to see you return to the normal endeavors of life.

MELA is a good social congregation, I always like at least to have a change of mood, and even though I do not buy I definitely visit there.

But when I go to PUSTAK MELA, I used to go alone, not with friends, I love to spend and explore unique and thought-provoking books and for that you need solitude.

BERHAMPUR PAPAD is simply the best of all. My favorite.

It was nice that you got those moments to enjoy the musical part of the program! The video that you put on first was fun! I enjoyed seeing all the action.

Your mom had a premonition/warning about your injury? Wow! That is a little scary to know that next time she has one, it is probably going to pan out! I am glad to hear that you feel a little bit better.

Patience is a virtue and I am glad to see how easygoing you are, visiting all the vendors for the shopping. How fun and it looks like she was very pleased with her purchases! There is a lot of shopping there!

It was the food that took my eye! :)

I see you went on the Ferris wheel! I love that ride. Thank you!!! This was a wonderful post about family and spending quality time together. You put together such nice words with your events. Thanks so much for taking us with you!

I enjoy learning about the world and how it is to live in your corner of it, and if there are solutions to making it better in any way. I find it interesting to compare, not by the world's standards, but, by how we find the quality of our life with different indicators than the world does. It is not always about the wealth in money, sometimes money means very little when there is no value behind it. You cannot buy health although you can take care of what you have. Being educated isn't always about schooling, but acquiring knowledge and using it for the better good and happiness of the society you are living in. It is with great pleasure that I read through this and all of the posts, with these thoughts in mind.

Don't miss the small things in your life, they usually make no noise but can be indicators of bigger things. I enjoy learning more about you and hope you feel the same, that is why I find it important to take the time to read a couple of #MarketFriday posts and leave a genuine comment. It is important for a community to do this, learning about others, and getting to know each other. The fun is in getting to know people and making a positive contribution to community life. All this fun and money too. What is not to love? That is one of the reasons I joined Hive. How about you? :) I leave you with the guidelines. I hope you are having an amazing week!

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service. It can be a movie, an auction, or even a museum. Wherever money is exchanged for a service or product.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive? Did it go up or down? A scroll of pictures with few words doesn't usually work.
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess about some.
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  5. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

I love that ride.

You must be having a strong heart. Interestingly I could never sit with my best friend, because he is scared. Thank you a lot for taking time to read through this and for the lovely comment.

Our old parents find their joys in very little things in life. They are sensible in spending money, they do not get carried away with the flashy things. Good you could take your mom to the fair. It seems to be a very big one with loads of activities.

In this type of fairs you can find many very interesting things, I also like to visit them out of curiosity to see if I can find something different and special that I can take home with me.

I'm so glad you took your family and made them happy

These are some great shots my friend and it was nice of you to go out with the family.
