Portrait of Branko Ćopić

Today I drew a portrait of Branko Ćopić.

He wrote poetry, short stories and novels, and became famous for his stories for children and young people, often set during the Second World War.

As a professional writer, Ćopić was very popular and could sell a large number of copies. This allowed him to live exclusively from his writings, which was rare for Yugoslav writers at the time.

A symposium on Branko Ćopić is held every year, in 2019 it was in Vienna.
He ended his life by jumping from the Branko's Bridge. He left behind a great literary work.
