My Voting/Election Experience

Ughhhh, I don't like reminiscing this day
I participated in the presidential election as the good citizen that I am.
But the process was so stressful, and exhausting and it's something I don't ever want to go through ever again.
Since it was mandatory to have a voter's card to be able to vote, I had to get one myself as I didn't have one but getting the voter's card was where the whole journey begun, the whole exhaustion.
I'm not so sure of how it went in details, or might not really wanna describe how everything unfolded but some set of people weren't attended to, and I was among.
I was so angry and tired that day, because I went to the venue to get my voter's card as early as 5 AM, can you imagine that? but I still went home empty handed without collecting the card.
After the stress of waiting and trying to get one which I eventually didn't, on getting home my parents learned of my plight and made arrangements for me to get it the next day.
Fortunately, my mum was able to make some calls and the next day I was the first person that got attended to.
I know I know, but I really don't like stress, anything stressful and exhausting, please count me out.

Fast forward to 25th February, 2023 election day, the day to decide the future of my country.
I got to my polling unit to cast my vote and oh boy it was crowded.
Like I wondered where the crowd was from or if it was this same election I came to vote that people turned out this much for too.
It was crazy and I can only imagined when I was going back home after seeing such crowd
Every one was talking about their preferred candidate, bants were flying around, and you know people always engaging in argument and fights during election day, with some people trying to convince others that their candidates was a beter choice and pick.
I didn't interact with anyone, lol because your choice of candidate could make someone beef you and I didn't have the energy for that.
And I wasn't ready for any banter whatsoever, I only minded my business and focused on what took me there, to vote and ofcourse for my preferred candidate.
The Internet wasn't left out either,it was another annoying and funny interaction, and I just watched people display and carry out every form of malicious and hilarious activities

Remember I said, your choice of candidate could make someone engage in a quarrel with you.
Well, the country was in a total uproar that day. People fought, got terribly injured, extreme tribalism happened.
My friend and I even had a huge clash, because of election.
It was crazy and I didn't even expect such after being very careful not to have any argument with anyone concerning a particular candidate running for the election
Phew, it was a crazy chaotic day and I wouldn't forget it in a rush, that's for sure because a lot of things happened that period and a lot of things changed as well for me.
My relationship with certain people and my communication with them was affected and things changed drastically
And although my preferred candidate didn't win, it was still the best choice I could have ever made for the presidential election and if given another chance, I will still pick the same candidate without having a second thought or mixed feelings.
So yeah, this is my voting/election experience

What about yours? Did things change for you after the election?
Did things stay the same way? What about your mindset towards certain things and people?

Or better still, did your preferred candidate win during the election?
I am sure you have an experience too, so share with us and thank you for stopping by my blog today.
Remember to give this newbie your uttermost support and encouragement, thank you!

Well, the election period was chaotic for real.

It was during the election I learned you can have a friend with a view or choice different from yours and still keep your relationship intact. That's maturity.

See fights, baseless fights. People fighting their helper because of men who don't even know their faces.
Wisdom was missing where it was expected.

Anyways, well-done with your post.

The fights were really baseless.

I mean what's all the trouble for?
So now after the election what next?
Everyone went back to their various lives and businesses so the fight wasn't really worth it.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving your input
