Embracing Self-Love: The Things I Admire About Myself

Self-love is a journey that never comes to an end. We have found ourselves in a world where many people tend to look down on themselves,on others, writing them off.
Over the years, I have dangerously become deliberate in developing my self-esteem. I may not be a perfect being in terms of looks, character, intelligence, and more, but I know I have grown over the years and I'm still growing.

I don't want to bore you with a long post, here are some of the things I admire about myself.

I Am Industrious
This is one of my features many people testify about often. I am very hardworking. For years now, I have taken to heart what a verse in the Bible says:

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

This has been my drive. This is what makes me want to do more, more than I have been assigned to do. I know some may see it has trying to prove a point or please men, but I'm not like that. I remember when I got employed as a secondary school teacher before I gained admission into the University, I took the job so personal. I was really interested in making contributions that would bring progress to the school. Even when I wasn't monitored, I would teach like I was monitored. Also, I didn't mind staying extra hours after school to teach the students. Today, the school still shows me how valuable I was and still am to them. I appreciate the fact that I am diligent at whatever I find doing. This is one of the things I will be remembered for.

I Am Peaceful
This stands out for me. Many do not know the effect peace has on the soul. The presence of peace is the absence of trouble. I deliberately do not get myself involved in anything that causes trouble. in short, when I see one, I dodge it. Events like fighting, quarrelling, shouting, and more, I try as much as possible to avoid them. No wonder most times I enjoy my privacy. I don't mind staying in my room for hours. Also, I don't keep too many friends. Of course, I have friends I relate with but constant visitations are not just my thing. The last time I ever got in a fight was around 2015 and I promised myself that that would be the last time I will ever get in a fight. Even when I meet people who are ready to unleash their “fighting talent", I just avoid them so I can embrace my peace. Of course, this doesn't mean I have to be daft and let people have their way or take advantage of me. But when the time is proper for me to speak out, I surely do so, peacefully.

I Am Talented & Skilled
To the glory of God, I appreciate the gifts God has given me. Right from when I was 12 or there about, I discovered my passion for music. I enjoyed listening to music and instrumentalists play the musical instruments. At that age, I started playing the drums. The more I grew, the more I began to advance and explore other musical instruments. I started playing the keyboard. Fast-forward to when I was 14 years old, I started making beats. My passion for producing music began to grow more and more. I started recording my songs and making the beats myself. Later, I began to make music for my classmates, and then I began to expand in making music for various artistes.

I had the privilege of making a beat for a song that was played on various Television and Radio stations.
Aside music, I developed interest in learning some digital skills. I design graphics, design web pages/develop websites, and i also edit videos.

I am Morally Upright
This is another quality I love about myself. Many don't have the courage to say this simply because we now live in a world full of moral decadence. I love to stand for what is right, true, and of integrity. I have been well trained by my parents, my schools (as a student), and my church. Everyday, I expose myself to sound teachings of the gospel, sound pieces of advise, and positive perspectives. This helps me stand firm and do what is right. This is not to say I'm perfect, it's to say I know what is right and I choose to do what is right. Due to my moral uprightness, I have inspired and impacted the lives of many around me. Some see me as a true mentor and a guide.

I really hope to see a better world filled with people of integrity.
