Life can be funny and embarrassing at times. It might be from frustrating or strange events that occurs in our lifetime. Such events create memories of hurried and pitiful experiences which can't be forgotten easily but keep reminding one of his mistakes of the pasts.

These events, although not an easy one at first and to the victim but comes with many lessons. I belong to that school of thought that believed that past should be past but it's lessons and significances of its events will last forever. Such lesson enlighten and educate us on how to be equipped to avoid such occasions and use such experiences to educate others to be wise and makes good decisions.

On this my event, many onlookers were amazed and make good jokes about me. They don't mind or think of how I felt. They were just laughing it loud whenever they saw me, passing by. I became their agenda and some of them even blame me for my mistakes. Not minding that unfortunate events can makes at glance for everyone. Nobody is perfect, that's what keep me uplifted during this trial. Listen to my real life experience and learn from it.

As a Jehovah's Witness, we have three great meetings of thousands of our brothers and sisters in circuit and regional setting, camping together for days for spiritual purposes. At such gathering, we look at our best for those days and enjoy the occasion.

However, such gathering comes with many responsibilities. Such responsibilities comes with challenging moments which can offset anybody of great plans. To win over these challenges, we start to plan for such occasions on times and months before the events. The preparation might involve payments for accommodation and transportation, buying and arranging of our clothes and having enough food stuffs for the occasion.

Despite our great plans and arrangements, being imperfect humans, mistakes can abound and offset our joy of the occasion . I had a bitter but funny experience of the regional convention of the year, 2014 which makes it exactly ten years ago. I was in the polytechnic, federal government tertiary establishment when it happens. We moved from our homes in large numbers to the chosen ground and facility that will accommodate us. Such place must be large and have facilities to accommodate and give us comfort.

Two days before the occasion, I traveled with other faithfuls to the convention ground. It was a pleasant moments as we sing and dance for our God, Jehovah for all his goodness. We remembered many good stories and events recorded in the Bible. Their lessons are clearly understood and impacts positively on us. On the ground, after checking on our rooms, we started to visit other people and talk about our travel experience and other topics which will prepare our mind for the spiritual food for the days to come.

Next day, as the morning breaks, we were ready to go. After bathing and freshen up, I brought out my clothes for the day. As I was wearing the trouser, it's zipper broke up. I become literally naked and the trouser becomes useless. What will I do now? Best thing will be to change attire or wear another one but in my case, that's the only one, I have and my only hope. I stood there hopelessly and without any plan. Crying can't help me out because it is over for me.

Many of my friends and brothers tried their best for the trouser to be fixed. They moves very fast to look for tailors or seamstress, but no avail. The only one on the ground is our member and getting ready for the meeting too. Although it pained her but she promised that it will be her first job, when she come back. They came back with this unfortunate stories and their efforts showed that they have really tried for me.

An alternative was suggested. Which will be best option for me. To look for anyone with another trouser. They started asking around for it but there's a challenge. I'm very tall with long legs more than my peers. They decided to use that criteria to look for the trouser. Fortunately, they remember, Kenneth, a boy of close to my height and rushed him for help. He provided one and everyone was happy for me. But as I put it on, the difference was clear. It was like a Mini-trouser on my body. They supposed to laugh but understood my plight. They encouraged me to wear it for the morning session and change back to mine later. Without any other option, I followed them for the meeting.

Every eyes was on me. I become a laughing stock and ashamed. My friends tried their best to shield me and explain to my onlookers, my plight but they were interested in the laughters and excitement. I was never feeling well and they keep pointing at me as they passed by. To worsen the matter, many young people keep following my back and singing mockingly on my dresses. All efforts to get my trouser fixed, failed that means I will wore that shameful trouser throughout the day's program.

Finally

Such experience taught me great lessons. I will have alternative and prepare very well for every occasion so that every embarrassing, but funny moments for others will be carefully avoided. Also, I have learn not to laugh at others because their reason for such shortcomings might not be entirely their fault. I'm richer than then and can't afford my trousers so many people now. Unfortunate circumstances can occur too which can offset prefect planned program and events.
