Worry Less And Do More
It is true that humans have the proclivity to worry sometimes, but one thing to understand is that no matter how much you worry about something, it will neither get it fixed nor get it done. The only thing to give you result is not worries but actions. Nothing wastes time like sitting and worrying over a situation. As a matter of fact, worries have a way of sapping the day of its goodies and the person tends to only focus on the negative side of life. So instead of wasting your precious time on worrying, it will be more productive to get up and do something, take an action, just do anything.
If the time that people spend on worrying is invested into something worthwhile, they will be surprised at how much they will be able to accomplish in life. You will agree with me that worry and fear works together and it is natural for someone that worries a lot to also pick up fears and vice versa, and this has only one ultimate purpose - to stop the person from taking steps. If only you can remove worrying, you will find yourself doing more and taking more steps. Most times, what people worry about are just fragments of their imagination and nothing real. Just as fear are oftentimes irrational, worries are mostly irrational too, and they are not justifiable sometimes. This reminds me of what my mentor and friend once said:
If you worry about something and it does not happen, that means you have wasted your time worrying in vain. However, even if it eventually happens, it means you will have to worry the second time.
From these words, I understood that there is no gain in worrying about something because it will sap the person of the needed energy to even take positive actions. It is surprising that sometimes, people worry about the things that they cannot change and the things they do not have control of, while leaving what they can do to bring about the changes that they want. The truth is that there are things that you cannot change no matter how much time you spend on them, and there are things you can change, but it take a considerable amount of maturity to be able to know the difference, so as to know where to channel your energy to.
Your energy should be focused on what to do to make a positive impact to your future. It is true that the past has passed, and no matter how much you worry about it, you cannot bring it back, neither can you alter what has been done in the past. Instead of worrying over the past, it will do you more good to see today as an opportunity to make a difference for your tomorrow. It does not matter what situation you find yourself in, or your background, what matters is that there is a hope of things getting better if you can take the required actions today.
One of the things to know is that emotions do not provide solutions to the issue of life, and one of the things that worrying does is to bring in emotions into what you would have normally done just to weaken you. What weakens people most times is not something from outside but their own mentality. There is an inner strength that gets triggered when you have the mentality of "I can do this." On the other hand, there is a level of weakness that comes by worrying if you will be able to make success with that step. Obviously, living in worries limits one from taking steps and that will also reduce the person's possibility of making success. After all, you cannot get something done by doing nothing.
To reduce worries, you need to keep yourself busy with what you have always wanted to do. Then another thing is, even though you are meant to hope for the best, you should also lower your expectations from life and also make provisions for the flip side. With enough preparation, both mentally and otherwise, you will not be worried about eventualities.
