The Power To Turn Your Wishes Into Actions

While growing up, a lot of us had many wishes and even life aspirations, but why is it that not all us have fulfilled their wishes? This is simply related to actions and inactions. As much as wishes are good, but it should be noted that they need to be powered by actions so that they will deliver. It is true that wishes may represent someone's goal for the future or what they hope to achieve, but you need more than that for the dream to be actualized. If everyone who wishes automatically has their wishes fulfilled without doing anything, then the world would be so weird. The good thing is that you need to do something for something to happen for you, not just by mere wises.

I remember when we were much younger, one of my childhood friends wished to be a soldier. He got so passionate about it that he would craft guns from sticks and posed with them. It made us to nickname him "commando" because of how he talked about the military and guns. But when he was supposed to get a form for the Defence Academy, he slacked. Then when the Direct Screening came up, he also slacked. That was how his wishes vaporised. Till today, he has not become a soldier, and he has already chosen another career path because time has almost run out on him. This happens when you do not put actions in your wishes, thinking that the wishes on their own will deliver the result.

In order to power your wishes with actions, there are things that you need to know. Wishing is good, but you should take it a step further by setting a goal and making it as clear as possible. It is the goal that you set that will create a sense of responsibility for you to act, not your wishful thoughts. You will agree with me that most times, wishes are not detailed and are vague, but a goal defines what you really want to do. For example; a wish may just be "I wish to be a Barrister," but a goal will tell you "I need to enter the law school at this time, graduate, and then become a Barrister." A goal is what prompts you to actions, not a wish. So your wishes should graduate into a goal.

After having a clear goal, the next thing is to make a plan out of it. No matter how good a goal is, you still need to determine the strategies to go about it - which is a plan. This is just like when a civil engineer wants to build an upstair, which is the goal. He will need to get an architectural design, which is the plan, so as to guide him through the right way to achieve the goal of building the upstair. In life, when you create a goal, you need to plan towards its actualization. Of course, it is by planning that you will break the goal that you have created into achievable bits, so that it will be easier to be powered by the relevant actions.

After you are done with planning, then the next step is to be prompt with your actions. Timeliness might just be a big deciding factor if a plan will work or not. So many people had wishes, made a goal out of it, then had plans, but delayed the actions and it did not deliver the required results. There are times that a delay in action may be as disadvantageous as not taking any action in the first place. What you need to do today, it makes zero sense to defer it until another day. There are somethings that you may want to achieve which may have timeline associated with them and any deviation in these timelines may render them fulfil.

The final point here is to learn persistence. It is through persistence that you empower your wishes. You should be persistent in your actions. You may try the first time and not get the desired result, but it is not a call to quit or to stop trying but a call to try even harder. Remember that failure does not mean you should withdraw all attempts at trying, neither is it final, but it should be a motivation to try even better. So even if you failed at an attempt, you should not give up but persist and persevere until you achieve your goal.

Peace on y'all
