The Achievers' Habits [Part 1]
Success is not a gift but what one achieves by undertaking the required actions, making the necessary sacrifices, paying the demanded prices, and forming the good habits. It is what you do over time that will form your habit and for success to be achieved, then your habits must be built to reflect what you want to achieve. Here, we shall be taking a look at the necessary habits that should be formed, which will facilitate success and will also become your own building block for growth.
The first habit that one needs to cultivate is "consistency." Obviously, to build something worthwhile, it has to take time, so you have to learn to maintain your actions over time. A friend of mine once came to me to tell me about the ordeal he was passing through in his business. He would do a particular line of business and if it seemed not to work, he will jump into another one and onto the next one in that order. I told him that was the problem. I advised him to stay on one particular one and give it his all, for a particular period of time. Amazingly, he is already doing very well in that business. Power of consistency.
If you plant a corn today and transplant it next week, and then transplant it again to another location, it will affect the growth of the corn plant. But when you leave the corn in one place and tender it, it will yield the desired fruits. When you start a business, you have to have a long-term plan for it and then give it all it takes. If you have future plans for what you are doing, you will not be deterred by what is happening at the moment. Of course, when you do a thing consistently and repeatedly, you will gain mastery over it.
The next habit is discipline. There are things you should not do, not because they are not right, but because you are not supposed to do it. In the same way, there are things you need to do irrespective of how difficult and discomforting it may be. With discipline, you will be able to create your goals and then remain on the right course towards its actualization. For example; if you have decided to save a percentage of your income for investment. It is discipline that will make you to stick to the plan and to turn away from unnecessary spendings.
It is your discipline that will help you to set routines for yourself, follow your plans, abide by the rule, and go through the required procedures. By adhering to your routine, you have already prepared yourself for success. I remember when I wanted to shed some belly fat, I drew out a workout routine which will guide me. It was a very difficult task but I kept to it for the number of times I had mapped out. Even though it was not convenient, I had to still undertake it; it was discipline at work. And I also limited the intake of certain foods. By the end of the duration, I was able to achieve the desired abs. You see, it was possible because of discipline. In life, success will almost be nonexistent without discipline. So be disciplined.
The next habit on the line is continuous and dedicated learning. More often than not, the more you learn, the more you find ease in undertaking tasks. In order to be successful, you need to understand that knowledge and information are crucial. Of course, learning holds the power to open some doors. You will agree with me that you tend to perform better in something that you are already knowledgeable about than in something you know very little about.
It is true that you may not know everything that you need to know at once, but each day, you have to make conscious efforts to learn something new. The very good thing about this era is that there is now ready access to information. So in order to increase in your knowledge, you need to invest in yourself; read books, research online, attend tutorials and seminars, rub minds with knowledgeable people. All these are part of the things to help you attain your desired level of success.

Discipline is an integral part of being successful; I would add that discipline must also take place regarding no.
You have to learn to say no; no when you have too many commitments, you risk default!
Well said. By having the ability to say "no," someone can avoid certain troubles.
Thanks buddy.
