Start Rightly, Start Timely

Your first step holds a lot of importance that it can determine the outcome of the other steps. As a matter of fact, it is what you do with the first step that will ultimately determine how the rest of the steps will look like. This is why you have to begin on a right and good note, and do it timely. When you want to undertake a journey for example, it is your first step that will affect the outcome of the journey. If you face towards the wrong direction, no matter how fast you go and no matter how long you have gone, you cannot get to your destination because you started on the wrong note. But if you are on the right track, then arriving at your destination becomes sure.

I remember a particular time when I was going to see my friend. He sent me his address and I thought I knew the road so I did not bother to ask for directions. When I was going, what he told me was just about 5 minutes drive from a major road was almost getting to 15 minutes and that was when I realized that I needed to ask for directions. So I stopped and asked one of the locals how I was going to locate the place and he screamed that I was on a wrong road, that I should make a U-turn back to the major road. What happened was that from that major road, I took a wrong turn and no matter how fast I was going, I was getting away from the destination instead of getting closer to it. I had to make a U-turn, got to the junction and made the right turn and that was when I got to my destination.

Imagine if I had continued on the wrong path, I would have completely lost out of getting to my destination. In fact, the speed at which I was going was not an advantage because I was not on the right path. I understood that speed is only an advantage if you are on the right course. In life, one of the reasons why a lot of people are facing one form of challenge or the other might just be because they are not doing something right or they started on the wrong note. You cannot go through the wrong processes and hope for the right result. In fact, the process and the methods have to be right in order for them to yield the right results.

However, being on the right course and doing things rightly is not the only requirement for success but you still need to do it timely even though you are doing it rightly. I have had the opportunity to visit a blacksmith's workshop and it opened me up to the concept of timing. When the blacksmith heats the metal which they want to work on, after a while of heating and it becomes red-hot, that is when they would strike it and it will begin to take shape. If they delay and the metals cools, the strike will be futile. So for the strike to yield the desired result, it has to be done at the right time. So also in life, a right action needs to be done on time to yield the right result.

I have come to understand that when a right thing is delayed or done at the wrong time, it may defeat the purpose of doing it in the first place. That is, a delayed action and an inaction carries almost the same negative effect. When you leave what you should do today and procrastinate it to tomorrow, you would have compounded the whole thing and you might even end up losing the benefits of doing the thing. The level of success you experience might just be dependent on time factor. When you start early to undertake actions relating to your dreams, you will achieve early success.

When you take an action early, time will be in your favour. Even if you did not achieve the result at the initial attempt, there will be plenty of time left for you to make more attempts and learn from the mistakes. Time will not be against you when you learn how to take prompt actions. Some people wait until last minute to rush through their actions and if something happens, they will look for what to blame, whereas they should blame themselves for delayed actions. You will be surprised how just doing things on time can greatly amplify your efforts and will create the kind of positive results that you may not even imagine.
