From Challenges To Opportunities; A Result Of Determination

Some of the things that happen that people see as challenges are simply opportunities in waiting, but that is only if they are determined to follow after it. In order to turn every challenging situation that comes to you into the opportunity to achieve greatness, then you must have a determined mind. This is because you will definitely need a drive, a zeal, an enthusiasm to make you to keep going even when everything suggests that you should give up. I have come to realise that in order to achieve extraordinary feat, then you need to make determination your ally.

I once read about the story of the late Steve Jobs and I saw a practical example of someone who was able to convert a supposed challenge into opportunity. Many people know that he was the co-founder of Apple inc, but the story surrounding it was rather amazing. After a time of co-founding the company, he was expelled from it, which led to some series of career challenges for him. However, instead of staying and sulking over what had happened, he decided to go ahead and found another company called NeXT, which then enabled him to acquire another company called Pixar. This became so successful that Apple inc had to welcome him back.

What others thought would mark the end of his career was actually what propelled him to stardom because of his determination to turn his challenges into a brilliant opportunity. When he returned to Apple, he became the brain to spearhead some amazing innovations like the iPad series, iPhone series, etc. He was able to turn what would have been a massive professional setback into a favourable opportunity to herald a very important journey of innovative technology. Imagine if he was not determined, he would not have seen the innovation of many Apple products. This is a prove that as long as determination is in place, then your journey is not yet over.

I am also aware that a very many number of us have watched the Harry Potter series or at least heard about it. However, a very spectacular story surrounds the author of the series; J.K Rowling. She faced many struggles and hard times at the early stage of her life. In fact, she faced challenges even in marriage and as such, she became a single mother. When she got the inspiration to start writing her book, there was almost no support from anywhere but she was determined to succeed. A point came when she needed to publish her book but publishers kept rejecting her work up till the 12th publisher. Finally she go accepted and it marked a turning point for her, and now, Harry Potter is among the best-sellers.

Determination is a very crucial and important aspect of success. But one thing to note is that determination does not only stop at persistence (which is doing things repeatedly), but doing it in a way to achieve results and having the vision that you must not stop until you have achieved what you have dreamt of. It is true that on your way to your dreamland, there will definitely be challenges, but see them as the platform for growth and development, which will propel you to your breakthrough. In fact, if you are not met with challenges, then it might just be that you are not trying something new or you are not even making any attempt or you are simply on the wrong track.

What someone else is seeing as challenge, if you are determined to succeed, you will see the same as stepping-stones for getting to where you are going to. You do not have to sit and wait for opportunities, just look into your challenges and you will see them. Whatever comes to you, irrespective of how it may look like; it might even be unpleasant, but your glory lies in it. Do not complain about challenges but you have to turn them to your stepping-stones to ascend to your next levels.

One of the things you should know about the journey of life is that it is never easy and will be full of challenges, but it is still worth it. As long as you are determined for success and keep putting your best towards life, then success will be a possibility.
