Web 3: know more about web 3.
WEB 3
What is Web 3.? Don’t worry I did not know too. Let get more knowledge and understanding to WEB 3. Before we get there, we need to know more about WEB 1 and WEB 2 .
Web 1 was the first version of the WORLD WIDE WEB (also known as W.W.W). Which was shown on computer during the 90’s. Web 1 was static that is, the user was just reading and viewing static images which was not that interesting to the users. Basically, WEB 1 was just reading and getting information on the internet. WEB 1 was dedicated to users who want to search for data on the web. WEB 1 was also called “The Read -Only Web” because it lacks certain functionalities like controls, visuals and interactivity. Some characteristics of WEB 1 are.
I. It has HTML 3.2 elements.
ii. Its pages are static which is connected to a system through Hyperlinks.
iii. Its content did not come from a relational database but a server file system.
That is Web 1.0
Web 2.0 is a World-wide website that shows up user generated content and usability to end user. Web 2 was Centralized which means, data from users has been run by a corporation (an organization). Some of the corporations are Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, twitter, TikTok and many more. Web 2 was created to link users together. It gave a lot of users to share information from one user to another, which makes web 2 interactive. Web 2 is not that bad because without TICKTOK and the other social media platforms, the world would not be interesting to live in.
Some features of WEB 2
. It has dynamic content as compared to WEB 1.
. It gives users the ability to interact with others through social media, Blogging, Commenting, Podcasting and many others.
. It is not limited to a specific community.
There is a speculation where users are not secure of their data been controlled and carried by a corporation. Most users want to get control of their data from the platforms. This is where WEB 3.0 came in.
WEB 3.0
Finally, WEB 3.0 is latest Web now. Web 3.0 which is known as WEB3. The main motive was the idea of making WEB3 decentralized, which means no organization is not getting hold of your data. Web 3 introduce Blockchain technology. Blockchain is procedure of storing / recording information that makes it difficult for other to hack or change the content of the system. Example of blockchain is Bitcoin, hive and many more. A blockchain is also decentralized technology that uses contracts to execute transactions. Web3 offers users the freedom to communicate without any third-party (that is, any organization) to control the data. Web3 can be used for blockchain games, metaverses, decentralized finance. Through hive, people can share their ideas on the platform. Hive has a lot of communities that you can join to share ideas in the communities. Through hive you get rewards through the post you make. Hive is one of the best blockchain. Hive is just like bitcoin where you can make transactions on the platform.
Features of WEB3
. For Web 3.0, users are able to sell their own data through decentralized data networks, which makes you owned ownership control.
. With Web3, information is more accessible across the platform.
Web 3 is made up of four layers of technological revolution. They are;
. Blockchain
. Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence
. Decentralized data network
. Edge computing
This is what WEB 3.0 is made about. Through Hive I have been able to understand what is WEB3 means.
I would like to thank @hiveghana for organization such a seminar in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (K.N.U.S.T) for the computer science society. Through the seminar I was able to know Web3 which made me to make search about Web1, Web2 and web3. I hope this post benefit everybody on this platform thanks you.
