Wedding day!!
A special day just began!
A good cousin of mine is getting married today and I am really excited about it!!
On Wednesday we celebrated at her parents place as her Maid of honor brought the wedding gown home!
It is tradition to dance holding the dress and then pin some money on it as a present for the newly weds.
The dancing took place on the street (luckily not a busy one, since we live in a village). We danced, laughed, my grandma even broke some dishes (in Greece it is - or better was - very common to do so while partying and bouzoukia - night music houses - used to be places where people broke dozens of dishes while dancing and partying to the sounds of folklore music).
Once we got upstairs, the single sisters and friends of the bride gently placed the wedding dress on a mannequin and then it was time for the closest of relatives to pin some banknotes on it (not a fan of this custom, but it is certainly very convenient for a couple that starts their common life together). The dress will remain there to decorate the house
until it's time for the bride to wear.
I'll surely be back with some more photos, since there is no way I won't take another 500 hundred pictures today!! Let's just hope the weather is kind to us and we don't have any sudden showers to ruin our big day!!

Weddings are one of the most beautiful events in the world
I wish her a happy married life
Thank you so much!
Very cool. I have. It heard of the pinning money tradition. I have been at plenty of events with dishes being broken though.
When I was a child, they used to pin money on both the groom and bride after the ceremony. As people would get in line to congratulate the couple, they would pin money on both of them and you could see lines of banknotes hanging from them - a little awkward IMO.
That does seem a little awkward .
The excitement is always out of this world so it's not bad for a few dishes to be broken.
BTW, the wedding dress is lovely 😍, I can't wait to see what she'll look like in it. Congratulations to her🎉
Thank you!! She was gorgeous and enjoyed her big day with all her friends and family 🥰🥰🥰
I feel so happy for her🥰🥰🥰.
Wow Enjoy the best moments of your life with your family member.
Thank you!
