My Favorite Book: Reading Romance Pocketbook During My Teens is My Favorite Pastime

It's my mama who influenced me to read the romance tagalog pocketbook. She's not very good at hiding her pocketbook, so I always end up reading it. When it's already time for her to go to work in Mommy F's bakery, that's when she'll hide her rented pocketbook. And once she's gone, that's also when I will look everywhere for it so that I can read it.

You know, even if Mama hides it, my curiosity toward that book is so immense that I find ways to look for it so I can read it. Mama stays a bit longer at work together with Papa so that I can read it without fear. And what often drew me into that book was its cover. The cover is too beautiful for me to just ignore it. It's an art drawn also by some amazing artists \(^o^)/.

Here's one of the old pocketbooks I have that was published in 1999 under Precious Pages Corporation. My favorite publishing company when it comes to Tagalog Romance Pocketbook. And look at the cover photo of it above. So pretty, right? So who wouldn't feel in love with it. Even without reading the synopsis at the back, I can already tell how good it is. And, even with the chance of being beaten by Mommy F (my aunt) if I got caught, I'll risk it all for the love of my pocketbook. Hihi. That's how crazy I was to it back then. I read it too during class hours, yes, bad of me. I just can't stop reading when i'm already on the best part. I'm sure lot of you here can relate, lol.

So anyways, I want to share one of my favorite romance tagalog pocket books that was published under PHR. It's one, but my favorite is a hundred. There's just a lot of good pocketbooks out there that having just one favorite is not right. But out of all the hundreds, this is one of those I read a lot of times already. But that was from a long time ago. I already stopped renting a pocketbook when I learned about Wattpad.

And the author of this pocketbook is also one of my favorites, Vanessa. I just love her humor in her works, and even with it, she never fails to deliver us a really good story. In this particular story, I had a good laugh with it, but at the same time, the feelings like the kilig whenever there is a sweet scene in there. That's all the reason why I read Romance Pocketbook. The happy feels, the happy ending - to which I always look forward despite the hurdles the main characters had to experience at first.

This story of "Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin: Tanya Maginhawa" (The Man Who Loved Me) is just like the typical romance type where the ML is famous and the FL is facing a lot of problems, she's poor too. But she's not the damsel in distress kind, it's just that she had to do something for someone important to her but then still ended up receiving help from the male lead. The FL here is a strong kind of woman who'll do anything for her family, especially for her "son," and that's why I love her.

But what I like the most of this book aside from the sweet and fun parts is how the FL treats her nephew as if he is her own son. And that she is ready to sell her body just so he can save him. And yes, it happened, but despite that, she will still get her happy ending. There are a lot more scenes there that I want to highlight, but that would be a huge spoiler. Anyhow, I'm not sure if you'll try to read it, but it's in Tagalog, so I'll leave it all to you all.

All I can say is I love it because of the warm feelings I often feel when reading it. I'm sure you know what I mean. (◍•ᴗ•◍)

I remember reading pocketbooks but a different genre for me, I'm a guy, haha. I read a lot of sci-fi, mystery and those where you choose a path to the story. Loved the later because you could read alternate endings.

It looks like a furry friend wants you not to read romance but give them love, haha. Great day ahead 😃

She still have them? Cool, we're the same, still keeping the pocketbook. Ang mura pa nyan before, but now too pricey na. Still, they are worth their price. Have you ever tried reading them?

Precious Hearts Romances has always offered the nicest stories!! 🫶🏻 I can remember how much kilig I felt while reading those pocketbooks. Nakakamiss ang pocketbook era before eBooks and Wattpad became popular, yung makikipagpalit ka ng pocketbook sa iba pag nabasa mo na lahat. 😂😂

Wahhh, legit! Hiraman malala, lol. Maganda pa rin sana ang mga pocketbook kaso, nauso na talaga Wattpad and ebook eh. Some just rather read for free than buy the book. Nagbabasa ka pa?
