[LOH-207] I Made Vegetable Patties With Mom: It Has Bad Texture But Has Well Seasoned Flavor

20241018_160304_0000.png

Mommy F suddenly craved this particular dish, we didn't really know what to call it, so she just described it as "that with carrots and cabbage and with eggs." I remember when Mommy F blended carrots to get their juices. It's for Mommy D to drink. Then there's the carrot bits that were left, and so Mommy D will do something out of it for it not to go wasted. She will put garlic, onions, pork cubes, pepper, salt, egg, and flour on it, then cook it in a pan like it is some patty, round and flattened.

The first time Mommy D made it, we liked it so much. We can eat it solo, but I got the idea of eating it with rice. And you know as long as it is salty, I think we can pair it with rice. Lol. Anyways, Mom missed these vegetable patties and so she made a request to Mommy D to make it again. But this time, it's kind of different because Mommy F wanted a cabbage too. Then I remembered the leftover chicken adobo from last night, so I suggested that we also add it in there to make it more flavorful.

So we started the fun experiment and preparation for this special vegetable patty requested by mommy F. Let's just call it "Vegetable Patties." It tastes good, I love how Mommy D seasoned it, but, for me, it's still a failure because of its texture. We did something bad on one of the whole processes. In the end, I regretted that I shredded the chicken instead of just cutting it into small bits. Let me just share it.

Here's the Ingredients
⬇️
⬇️
2 small carrots
300 G of Cabbage
2 large eggs
1 Sachet of Oyster Sauce (30 g)
Onion and garlic
Salt and Pepper
Chicken Cubes
200 G of Flour
Shredded Chicken

So it's my time to shine, lol. I did the prepping, like cutting and peeling, while Mommy D seasoned the ingredients. And I started with peeling the carrots, then grated them. I also cut the cabbage into small pieces and then proceeded to soak it in water with a pinch of salt in it.

I also get the leftover chicken in the fridge and shredded it like this, which is a bad idea - better not put it in or just cut the chicken if you still want to try it. I also cut the onion and garlic, minced or chopped, do what makes you happy. Lol

And here's our flour and pack of oyster sauce. We'll need that for sure.

Now it's Mom's time to shine! In a bowl or whatever is available in your kitchen, mix the oyster sauce, salt, chicken cubes, and pepper. Mix and mix until the salt dissolves. Then add the carrots, onion, and garlic. Mix again.

Let's add the chicken, then mix again. Once incorporated, add the cabbage, then mix. Add the flour and egg and mix and mix - I mean, mix more.

And until our mixture turns out like this.

It's cooking time! And its my turn again, lol. Ready the pan, heat it, put the cooking oil, and fry it just like you fry your patties. As for Mom's request, she wants it thin but flattened like this.

And done!

I tried eating some, it's good. I love how Mom seasoned it. Just right saltiness and flavor. So I take a big bite, and baam! It's the shredded chicken. It's too long and too - hmmm, chewy? I can't cut the long shredded chicken using my teeth, so without choice the whole thing will be devoured, causing the "patties" to crumble. Another thing is that the patty is crispy, but once you bite and start munching it, some bits of it will stick to the teeth. I don't know why, but I don't like it.

I don't like how it turns out, but it's still good that I ate it. I eat it with rice, and it's the best. The only problem is those things that I mentioned above. All in all, we ate the whole thing, and Mommy F, who requested it like it. So it's still a success. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
