Helping Mommy D with Bud Grafting Using Her Own Method: The Process is so Fascinating to Watch, I am Already Looking Forward to its Result!

I know we were taught about budding during our TLE subject in high school. But it's been so long that I can't remember the process anymore, or is it because I didn't listen carefully that I have a little knowledge about it? Lol. So when Mommy D asked for my help with her budding endeavor, I just said yes, but in my head, I know for sure that I can just help her by holding the tools needed to do it. Then she showed me a bud stick that she got from another tree, which, according to her, was from a Valencia tree that she got in their house. I'm not sure where she got the idea of doing it now, maybe she was taught by her sister, or maybe she saw about it on Facebook, and now she wants to try it.

So Mommy D decided to grow her valencia bud stick into our sugar apple tree - really, a different kind of tree, right? And at that time, I'm still questioning if that is really possible. Though I didn't tell her that, haha. I don't want to really interrupt her, as I know she wants to do it. So I leave my question in my head. But what do you think? Will she successfully do it or fail miserably? Although I want to help her gather more information about budding, but there's no time already. She just wants to do it badly. And I feel like if I stop her, it will look like I know better than her, haha. So I just let it be and watch her do her business.

So aside from the valencia bud, she already has an aloe vera and, of course, a knife ready, which she will use later to attach the valencia bud to our sugar apple tree. Why aloe vera? I'm not too sure either, but maybe for some vitamins, no? I didn't ask her that time because I'm busy watching her, haha. If she succeeds in this endeavor, I will try it too. Because from what I read, you can have a lot of fruit in one tree. Sounds so impossible but you can actually have a peach as well as nectarine and plum in one tree. Amazing no? Check this out guys. It's possible in Australia, now Mom will try a completely different fruits, to combine.

I tried to look on Google for the kind of budding Mommy D did, but I couldn't find any. It's not a T budding, not a chip budding, or a patch budding either. If I may say so, it's a little closer to T budding but not quite. I think she is starting it a little off. Hers is not in the shape of a T but more like something else. Look at the image above, it's like she just scraped it like that just pulled it using a knife, leaving it a little attached to the tip, to hold out the bud, I think - and then that's it. Now, I'm not really sure if this will work. Lol.

Next is putting some aloe vera juices on the bud. This is really not just a bud, no? It's a whole branch of a tree, it's bigger. But she did it her way, she follows what she wants, so maybe she's still doing well.

Next, she finally attaches the valencia bud, while I'm supporting her and holding the buds like this. She should be using rubber to attach it, but then we don't have it, so she just used big plastic and holds it tightly so it doesn't fall off. I can sense Mommy D's excitement about what she's doing, so hopefully what she did is alright.

What do you think, guys? Did she do it right or not? Is it a failure or a success? And does anyone here already tried bud grafting? For sure lots of people already did. Did you succeed or nah?

Exciting isipin kung paano magiging fruitful 'yung mga halaman in the future. Nakakabilib 'yung dedication at patience sa pag-garden.
