Another Drive, Another Adventure: The Little Wet Market, the Fresh Fish We Pick Up, and a Vegetable Soup for Lunch

When it's Mom that's driving, it's like we are in a fun but scary adventure with how reckless she drives. Often scaring her passenger by driving faster as if she has nine lives, lol. That's how she is even before, especially when she drives a two-wheel motorcycle. She always received a hard pinch from Mommy D if she did it, and Mommy D is at her back, lol. So she will slow down a bit and drive at a normal pace. Lol. She still does it, but not as fast as before, that's what she always did, she knows what she can and can't do now. But of course being a show off a little is already in her veins, lol. But she does it when the road is clean and no other vehicles are passing.

We walk back home after staying at the park for one and a half hours yesterday. And when we get home, Mommy F said that she wants to go to Bansud Bridge and I should accompany her to buy fish for dinner, thats where the little wet market is located. At first, I didn't want to come because I still had to take care of our cat, Black Black. But then she called me as if she really wanted me to come. Lol. What I did was call Mama so that she could accompany us. And here we are again, for another short ride. I feel like we're doing a test drive, though.

So, because it's just close, Mom drives for like one minute. We've arrived safely in the little market, and I thought it was empty, but I just can't really see it because of the cover. If some of you remember, we planned to visit this place last month, but we stopped half way because Mama thought that there was no fish. So this is just my first time here.

It surprises me that there's a lot of customers here. We saw a familiar face too while checking every stall, which is also buying some fish. What's good in this wet market is that those vendors sell what they catch. They are the ones who caught them, so it's fresh and more affordable.

This market is now in a good spot, unlike when they are in the main market. The fish vendors that sell fish in the main market complained about these vendors here when they were placed near the main market. I think they are just jealous that the wet little market is more popular than them. I mean, I won't like the main wet market if the fish and seafood they sell is fresh and they sell it at a really affordable price. You can encounter a few vendors which is cheaper when it comes to the price, but just a few.

Look at that! This is the little wet market y'all Fresh fish and seafood everywhere. We're having a hard time choosing what fish to buy, though. Lol. It's Mom who'll buy it, so I let her decide what to buy.

Mama tried to look for a fish for her pets, but she couldn't find anything. She's buying a particular fish, which is the cat's favorite, too bad it's not available. In the end, we end up buying "Kanuping" or Emperor Fish according to Google. We usually buy a small kanuping, but lucky for us because there's a big kanuping available, which is already cut and cleaned. It's better if the big kanuping because there aren't many bones on it and the bones are bigger, which is easier to spot.

And after getting the fish we want, its time to go home now. I got the fish on my hand, and Mom requested to just fry it. I also like it fried, with a special dip for it.

And here's our meaty fish, see, it's best to buy the big fish. We are so sure to get a meaty fish, although it is more expensive too. I just clean it thoroughly, preparing for frying time later. I also put salt on it, and while letting it soak in the salt to make it more tastier, I ready the rice as I need to cook it too, we'll have a yummy dinner later.

And here's the fried fish. I only put salt on it as a seasoning - no pepper or msg, just SALT. And the taste is just amazing. The saltiness has just right, if only I'm not limiting myself with rice, I'll surely eat more because of this fish. Its really too bad I have control when it comes to the food I ate, lolol.

And today for lunch, Mommy D made vegetable soup together with this fried fish. It has okra and silk squash. And because the vegetables are really fresh, which, by the way, we bought to the old woman downstairs, the sweetness of the vegetables in the soup is so refreshing. I sipped a lot of it's hot soup, what a flavorful dish!

Seeing the fish in the wet market than on the plate and the thought of it in my mouth 😋 Fresh fish is so good, only available where I'm located if I catch it myself.

Fresh fish really taste different. Unlike here. It's tasteless even you put a lot of seasoning.🫤

and it's not safe btw. You need to know very well where this fish has come from, and if it's healthy. I know some cases when people died because of bad fish...

True, often the fish I saw here are packed with ice. Also just importing from other countries.
