Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - The Rebellion
Hi splinter warriors,
Welcome to my blog. The new splinterlands season has ended. Last season I was able to get up to 37 season chests playing in the modern league. It was a bit lower than that of the previous season but I got better rewards in this just-ended season chests.
A new season has started now and I hope we get the time and energy to play and get more chests. Hopefully I can get past the Silver III stage as I’ve always wanted to.
Enough of the season now, let’s talk about the rebellion packs.
For two weeks I’ve been talking about the rebellion packs, what set of cards it gets to offer users and also the new set of user experience it will bring into the game. Today I’ll be talking about the set of new abilities or should I say tactics it’s us bringing into the game. But before that let’s look at a few things.
T-15 days to the end of the rebellion packs sale and then we’ll be able to see what we have installed in December. As I’ve always said, if by the end of the sale, all the cards are not sold out then the remainder of the cards will be burnt and then taken out of circulation but if all are sold out then the better.
The rebellion packs are a new way of approaching the Splinterlands game and also the economy of the game. These new rebellion packs will aim to introduce new set of cards into the game lore and as such also change how things are in the game now. Each pack contains 5 sets of cards which a user can be fortunate to get gold foils or rare cards. As usual, these cards will be yours to do with as you please.
In my post last week, I spoke about my ambition to buy more packs. My aim of getting or buying up to 10 packs in the game has been achieved. Yesterday I bought the remainder eight packs with 32,000 Dec and 40 vouchers bringing my total number to 10. Obviously, I bought these 10 packs just to be able to get the promo card for buying 10 packs.
In my opinion, it would have been a waste of my time to have one or two packs which wouldn’t qualify me to get any of the promo cards. But then In case you didn’t know, you can also get a different promo card for buying 100 packs; now you know so you can go ahead and buy those 100 packs as there is still time and a lot of packs in the market to go even though we are well into half of the 500k up for sale.
Now the new set of tactics in game.
So far, I know of just 3 sneak peeks into tactics in the game.
• Dual Element
• Ability choice
• Target options
These are tactics which have never been possible in game before until the rebellion.
For the dual element, it means a user can decide to merge two elements into one game. How cool is this? Imagine being able to merge the water and fire elements and play both elements in one game. You know of some games that require you to use a bit of this element and that element but it’s not possible since the game allows just one element. Well, the rebellion changes that.
There are times when you’ll really need a Kron in one game but then you’ve gone to select death cards, how do you do this? The rebellion allows you to choose death cards and earth cards for a single game.
The second tactic is the ability to choose. In their explanation “Once both teams are revealed on the battlefield, you can determine which Summoner ability to apply”.
The third and final tactic is target options. “Buff your tank or your sneak unit in the rear?
Or would it be better to buff your entire team?”
These are a few of the refreshing tactics that will come to the game after the rebellion cards are launched. Will these new abilities and tactics make you go in for the new set of rebellion packs? I think it’s worth it.

I am so not understanding the entire sales thing, i fear by the time i catch up i may have already missed out?
Well I understand where you’re talking from lol. The first time I read the post about rebellion I didn’t understand it and I had to ask for more explanation from someone.
There’s still 14 days left on the rebellion sales so don’t worry you still have time(before it sells it)
Let me try giving you a simple explanation.
Rebellion stands for new set of cards which are coming to the game. On splinterlands there are regular cards we use already in game but with this new packs we’ll get cards from the packs we have never seen or used before.
Each packs costs 3 dollar and each pack contains 5 set of different cards. When you get those cards you can decide to use that in game, sell them or burn them, it’s up to you.
With the promo cards you get them when you buy 10 or 100 packs before the presale ends.
When you buy 10 you get a different type of card which is not in the packs and when you buy 100 too you get a different promo card. But keep in mind that a user who buys 100 will be getting 10 of the promo cards a user who bought 10 will get and then his one for buying 100.
Let me not confuse you. I know the first parts will be simple now I guess.
