A Newbie's Guide to Conquering Splinterlands"

Hi guys,
Welcome to my blog. This week we are going to look at starting splinterlands as a newbie. Playing splinterlands as new player can be challenging especially if you have never played a card game before. I remember when I started playing everything seemed so new to me. I had to watch tutorial videos countless times to get a hang of it. Up until today I am not perfect as I think most people are not yet.
For me, I think with the way spl works you can never get to understand it fully which is what makes it so interesting. There is something to learn everyday and as such it makes it nice. Since the team is actively adding updates every now and then.
Now I’ll like to take you through how to sign up, what to do after signing up, how to navigate the UI to submit your first battle and a whole lot.
First of all you need to know that things are not same as they were a few months or years ago. Now you have an academy which is dedicated to teaching you a lot about splinterlands before you start going. I’ll also like you to know that now, we have the true free- to play feature on splinterlands. At first before you could play you needed to pay for a spell book which cost 10 dollars.
Now you don’t need to own a spell book. You can just create an account play a few games while you earn an in game currency called glint which can be used in the game shop and then later on decide if you’ll buy the spell book and now earn their currency called splinterlands.
Find your way to splinterlands.com and click on the register sign. After, you see a few options. You can sign up with an email after choosing your username or use other crypto options.
After you create your free account you are logged onto the welcome page. You should note that you will be given starter packs upon registration. You should also strive to join our discord channel and let members know that you just registered witu spl. We have a generous community who will offer to help by giving out card delegations to you. Some might even send sps delegations to your account to help you earn as you play.
When you finally play a battle and win you’ll earn glint. This glint is what is used in the in game shop to purchase a variety of things. You can purchase energy, merits, cards(rebellion soul bound ) amongst other things as well.
As you progress in game your rating increases. You should know that you are playing so you can advance to higher leagues and earn better rewards as well. With each league advancement is a reward chests where you’ll earn a number of chests. In these chests are random items. If you’re lucky enough you might just earn something which can be sold on the market.
For me some of the best ways to enjoy is by playing. That’s the only way to really learn how to do it. As long as you play games you get to learn from the strategies of others as well. And you should always remember that the community is always reader to help you learn as much as you want to. It doesn’t matter what you ask, they’ll always be there for you.
Splinterlands is a play to earn game and as that you should know that you need to invest to earn as well. Good cards in the game cost money as well. Playing without spell book purchased is not a bad idea but it doesn’t open up the play to earn door for you. Don’t expect a lot when you start playing; you should always strive to be good at the game and then the rewards will follow.
If you should ask me, I’d say it’s worth it buying the spell book and playing. You should have realistic goals and the always remember that you need to enjoy the game as well.
