Ladies of Hive Community Contest #85 "What Do You Do For Fun?"
I'm a busy bee. I have to work hard every day in order to keep my hive healthy and happy, but that doesn't mean I can't take some time out to enjoy myself! I love playing games with my friends, and I especially like board games because they're so much more exciting than computer ones. It's great fun competing against other players, and it really makes me feel like part of something bigger when we win together as a team. I also love going to see movies and reading books, though I don't get the chance to do those things very often.
In addition to these hobbies, I'm an avid reader of newspapers and magazines. I always try to stay up-to-date on what's happening around the world, and it helps me make better decisions at work.
And I like to do is play music. There are so many instruments available nowadays, and I've tried all of them except the piano. My favorite is probably the guitar, because I can easily carry it around in my beehive without getting stung by a wasp or a hornet! The best thing about playing music is that I can create new sounds just by strumming the strings.
My friends and family know that I love to read, and I never hesitate to recommend a good book if someone asks me for advice. When I was younger, I used to spend hours lying in bed with a flashlight under the covers, reading books until late into the night. Nowadays, I prefer to read during my lunch break instead of eating my sandwich, but I still think reading is one of the most important things you can do in life. It teaches you how to think and learn new words, which will help you succeed in whatever you want to do.
I have lots of friends who love to go shopping, but I hate spending money on clothes. I'd rather buy a new book than a dress, and I always make sure to save up enough money, even if that means not having any fun while I'm still young. But there are times when I do like to splurge on myself, and I always treat myself to a new pair of shoes whenever I need some new ones.
If you were to ask me what I do for fun, I would say that reading and writing are my favorite hobbies, followed closely by board games and music. If I had to pick just one, I guess it would be reading, because I can enjoy it anywhere, anytime.

I love board games too, I love to compete with real and not virtual people, win, lose, laugh, while we play and eat some snacks.
I also love to read and I had abandoned it because of so many day to day responsibilities. However, I resumed reading for bedtime. After taking care of my house, feeding my son dinner and putting him to bed, I take a warm bath and get into bed to read, even if it's only for 15 minutes. It relaxes me and puts me into a deep sleep.
