Music has an important place in our lives and undoubtedly music is the most important part of our lives. The majority of the world's population listens to music, and many of them love music.​ So why do people listen to music?

Throughout history, scientists from various fields have pondered the nature of music. And many studies have been conducted for hundreds of years about why people listen to music, and although many different results have been found, most of them have found common results, which I will talk about below. The passion for music, musical activities, has ancient roots dating back 250,000 years or more, and music plays an important role in nearly every known culture around the world, so it's no surprise that there is so much research on music. Listening to music is one of the most mysterious of human behaviors, so I love seeing music research.

In a study conducted on "Why do people listen to music?", scientists found that although they reached many conclusions, three elements stood out. These;

• Regulate arousal and mood
• Achieve self-awareness
• As an expression of social relatedness

So, according to the research, people mostly listen to music to regulate arousal and mood, to achieve self-awareness, and as an expression of social relatedness. In fact, these results found in the research are not very surprising for music lovers, but it is still great to see these results in scientific research. Frankly, I usually listen to music according to my current mood, and listening to music is really good for me and helps me relax. Also, I like to listen to music at social events and even almost everywhere. Music really occupies a very important place in my life, I love music very much.
