Very Interesting Battle with Keep Your Distance Ruleset | BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!
Description:
Units with melee attacks may not be used.
Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks. Use Headwinds and Return Fire to counter ranged attacks.
Units with 2 types of attack (which include melee) cannot be used.
In battles with the Keep Your Distance Ruleset, Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. Since Magic Attack and Ranged Attack Monsters will be used in battles with the Keep Your Distance ruleset, some abilities really work in such battles and can be very useful to the team. I will explain some of these below.
The Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect Abilities work great against Magic Attack Monsters, so I take great care to use these abilities against them. Also, Magic Reflect Ability and Amplify Ability combined are very effective against Magic Attack Monsters. Because when a Monster with the Magic Reflect Ability is hit with Magic damage, it does Magic damage back to the attacker. And a monster with the Amplify Ability also increase back damage by +1. Headwinds and the Return Fire Abilities also work great against Ranged Attack Monsters, so I take great care to use these abilities against them. Also, Return Fire Ability and Amplify Ability combined are very effective against Ranged Attack Monsters. The Amplify Ability is really useful for increasing back damage in battles.
Abilities
- Phase Ability : Magic attacks can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks).
- Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks.
- Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.
- Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker.
- Headwinds Ability : Reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy Monsters.
- Return Fire Ability : When hit with a Ranged attack, Monsters with Return Fire will return reduced damage back to their attacker.
- Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.
I will share my most interesting battle with the Keep Your Distance ruleset, I hope you like it.
Battle Ruleset
- Keep Your Distance: Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
- Fire & Regret: All Monsters have the Return Fire ability.
- Counterspell: All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.
According to the ruleset of the battle, Magic and Ranged Attack Monsters could be used in this battle, and all Monsters would have the Return Fire Ability and the Magic Reflect Ability. The battle ruleset was really interesting because all Monsters without the Reflection Shield Ability would take back damage after hitting targets. Having cards with the Reflection Shield Ability and the Void Ability were a huge advantage in such battles. Also, using the Amplify Ability would have a huge advantage.
In this battle, I will choose Grandmaster Rathe as the summoner because Grandmaster Rathe gives +1 Armor, Void Armor Ability, and Amplify Ability to all friendly monsters. In this battle, defending well was more important than attacking, so using cards without attack power could be more effective. Since all the Monsters in my team have the Void Armor Ability, I will add 2 Monsters with the Repair Ability to the team because I thought the armor would be very useful for my team in this battle. I will also be making use of the Martyr Ability in this battle.
This Monster doesn't take damage from Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, or Return Fire.
LINE UP
Summoner : GRANDMASTER RATHE
Grandmaster Rathe is the Life Summoner that gives +1 Armor, Void Armor Ability, and Amplify Ability to all friendly monsters
- Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.
- Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.
Position 1 : CHAOS AGENT
Chaos Agent is a Monster that has no attack power and has the Dodge Ability from level 1.
- Dodge Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.
Position 2 : PELACOR CONJURER
Pelacor Conjurer is a Monster that has no attack power and has the Flying Ability and the Magic Reflect Ability from level 4.
- Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
- Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker.
Position 3 : SCAVO HIRELING
Scavo Hireling is a Monster that has no attack power and has the Repair Ability from level 1.
- Repair Ability : Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage.
Position 4 : VENARI MARKSRAT
Venari Marksrat is a Monster that can attack the target with a Ranged Attack and has the Martyr Ability from level 1.
- Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.
Position 5 : ADELADE BRIGHTWING
Adelade Brightwing is a Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has the Flying Ability, the Repair Ability and the Resurrect Ability at level 2.
- Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
- Repair Ability : Restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage.
- Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.
Honestly, the opposing player's strategy was pretty good too, it was wise to choose IMMORTALIS as the Summoner in such a battle, so all Monsters on the opposing team had the Void Ability. Also, I'm not surprised to have a monster with the Amplify Ability on the opposing team. It was also wise to use the Triage Ability. But in my strategy, the Triage Ability wouldn't work on my team.
Round 1
Even though both teams were attacking effectively from the first round, the back damage taken was reducing the monsters' health even more. But the opposing team was luckier in this regard because all enemy monsters had the Void Ability. But in my team, it was very useful to have Monsters without attack power and Monsters with Repair Ability and all Monsters to have 1 armor.
Round 2
At the beginning of the second round, all monsters on both teams were still alive, but at the end of the second round, only one monster on my team was destroyed while two monsters on the opposing team were destroyed. Back damage was affecting both teams negatively.
Round 3
In the third round, Adelade Brightwing was destroyed by the back damage it took, and frankly I wasn't too upset about it being destroyed because it was so hard to survive a battle like this. The fact that Scavo Hireling was still alive kept my hopes up for winning the battle.
Round 4
In the fourth round, we managed to destroy two more monsters from the opposing team, which was a sign that we had won the battle.
Round 5
It was indeed a very interesting battle, and I was very surprised that Venari Marksrat was still alive in the fifth round. Only Venari Spellsmith remained in the opposing team and it had no chance of winning this battle. Until Venari Spellsmith was destroyed, it could only hit the Pelacor Conjurer's armor.
Round 6
In the sixth round, my team did not have any monsters with attack power, but the fact that Scavo Hireling was still alive was a big advantage for my team.
Although the battle only had 22 mana, it was quite remarkable that the battle lasted 7 rounds, which was proof that the opponent player's and my strategy were quite good. My strategy worked better so my team was able to win this very tough battle. It was indeed a very interesting battle.
