After TikTok's problems with companies such as Universal Music Group, it is noteworthy that giant streaming platforms such as YouTube and Spotify have added features similar to TikTok and that users use most, to their apps. Considering that Spotify and especially YouTube have a vast library of official music videos that TikTok does not, it makes sense that the platforms would leverage it to further their short-form video ambitions. And I wouldn't be surprised if, in the future, they have all the features most used by users that TikTok has, and even more.

Popular music streaming platform Spotify is working on a new TikTok-inspired feature that will allow users to remix their favorite songs, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. According to the report, Spotify will allow users to "speed up, mash-up, and otherwise edit" songs from their favorite artists, which they can save to listen to later. You can view the source and the full report here. I can say that the feature Spotify is working on is one of the most used features by users. It is not yet clear when this feature will be released, but users will like it if it is added to Spotify.

This feature was previously in beta and now YouTube allows you to integrate music videos into your shorts. You can now include or remix a music video into your short-form videos, called Shorts, just like on TikTok. This move by YouTube is quite remarkable, especially considering the problems TikTok has had with music companies and artists lately.

There are four tools on the app, as seen in the video above. The Collab tool allows you to view the music video alongside your own video. The "Green Screen tool allows you to use the music video as the background of your Short video. And the Cut tool lets you take a five-second clip of a music video and add it to your short video, and finally the Sound tool allows you to take just the sound from a music video and use it in your Short videos.
