"Dancing Queen" is a song by Swedish pop supergroup ABBA, released on August 16, 1976. It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album, Arrival. Additionally, the album Arrival was released on October 11, 1976. "Dancing Queen" was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson and produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. "Dancing Queen" became a worldwide hit, reaching number one in many countries and reaching the top five in many others. "Dancing Queen" received critical acclaim upon its release. The lyrics of "Dancing Queen" concerns a visit to the discotheque, but approaches the subject from the joy of dancing itself. And it alternates between "languid yet seductive verses" and "a dramatic chorus that ascends to heart-tugging high notes". Featuring sublime melody and pop opera harmonies, the song "Dancing Queen" has become a dance-pop standard with its sincerity and sheer musicality. Even though it is almost half a century old, I enjoy listening to this song, it undoubtedly deserves to be one of the best works of all time.
