Founded in 2015 to aim to break down technical, geographical and creative barriers for musicians and fans, BandLab has experienced significant growth in the last year. BandLab, which had 60 million users last year, surpassed 100 million users by increasing the number of users by more than 50% in almost 6 months.

Additionally, in January, BandLab launched BandLab Licensing, a new program that helps users monetise their music while retaining full artistic control. BandLab Licensing offers a comprehensive licensing solution that covers syncing for film, TV, games and advertising, as well as extending streaming licenses for exclusive, rights-cleared content.

BandLab's music-making software has a massive library of virtual instruments, the ability to automatically create multi-part vocal harmonies, and record, sample, and manipulate audio in myriad ways. Additionally, on the platform, musicians can create individual profiles, chat with each other, comment on peers' releases, ask for advice, or break down a song into its components and share them in crowdsourced remixes. By the way, BandLab does not receive royalties from music made on its platform. BandLab makes money from distribution, livestreaming, and artist services like BandLab Boost, which allow artists to turn their profiles or posts into ads on the platform.

BandLab continues to grow day by day by making the right moves, doing the right things and undertaking forward-looking and need-oriented initiatives. When brands do these things, growth becomes inevitable. And while it offers many features to its users, all of them are free, making it a unique brand.

In my post on October 19, 2023, I wrote that BandLab has more than 60 million users, and the other day, BandLab CEO Meng Ru Kuok told Bloomberg that BandLab has more than 100 million users. I use BandLab, it is a very nice app, I use it for entertainment purposes rather than making money. The platform makes money not from those who make music, but from those who want to promote themselves and reach more users. I think the key is to serve this user well and make money from those who promote, not from those who make music, so it is not surprising that it has so many users.
