X&Y is the third studio album by British Rock band Coldplay, released on 6 June 2005 by Parlophone Records in the United Kingdom and a day later on 7 June 2005 by Capitol Records in the United States. The album was produced by Coldplay, Danton Supple and Ken Nelson. The album was recorded between January 27, 2004 and January 2005. The album's cover art combines colors and blocks to represent the title in Baudot code.

X&Y was a major commercial success worldwide, becoming the best-selling album of 2005, with sales of 8.3 million copies worldwide. According to EMI, album sales exceeded 9.9 million by the end of 2006. As of December 2012, sales of the album exceeded 13 million copies. X&Y also became one of the best-selling albums of all time worldwide. The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) also certified the record 9x platinum, while Music Week ranked it ninth on its list of the "20 Biggest-selling Albums of the 21st Century".

Overall reaction to the album X&Y was generally positive. The album reached number one on the charts of 32 countries worldwide, including the United Kingdom and the United States. It also had the third biggest sales week in history in the UK at the time. It became Coldplay's first album to top the Billboard 200 chart. The album features twelve tracks and an additional hidden song called "Til Kingdom Come", listed as "+" on the disc label and inside record booklet. Undoubtedly, "X&Y" was the best album of 2005, and I can even say that it was one of the best of 2006, because I can say that I heard most of the songs in the album in many places both in 2005 and 2006. They were among the most popular songs of that time. I can say that the songs I listened to the most in the "X&Y" album are "Talk", "Speed Of Sound" and "Fix You", but my favorite is "Fix You".

“Talk” is one of the songs that demonstrates Coldplay's success in intertwining musical elements with emotional themes, which is why I love listening to this song.

"Speed of Sound" is a great song with pouncing drums and a tremendous chorus.

"Fix You" is my favorite song on this album and it's a truly amazing work. "Fix You" is a song about trying to console someone who is going through a difficult time. "Fix You" was written by Chris Martin for his then-wife Gwyneth Paltrow after the death of her father. Blended with deeply personal yet inspiring lyrics, expertly put together, it has become a full-fledged rock anthem. "Fix You" starts with a soft organ melody and builds to a powerful climax with electric guitars, drums and choir vocals. It's one of Coldplay's most emotional songs, it has lyrics that move me every time I listen to them, the lyrics are truly tear-jerking.

At the very beginning of the song, the lyrics start to touch the heart: "When you try your best, but you don't succeed / When you get what you want, but not what you need" are the lyrics that touched me the most.
