BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge

RULESET: Wands Out

Description:

Only units with magic attacks may be used.

Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.

In battles with the Wands Out Ruleset, only Units with Magic Attacks may be used. Phase Ability, Void Ability, Void Armor Ability, and Magic Reflect Ability can be very effective against Magic Attacks, so I attach great importance to using these abilities in battles with the Wands Out Ruleset. Additionally, I would like to point out that in battles with the Wands Out Ruleset, I attach great importance to using cards with two types of attack power, one of which is magic attack.

Brief Descriptions of the Above Mentioned Abilities

  • Phase Ability : Magic attacks can miss this Unit (using the same hit/miss calculation as Melee and Ranged attacks).
  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.
  • Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its Health.
  • Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

Today I will share my most interesting battle with the Wands Out Ruleset, I hope you like it.

Let's examine the Wands Out Ruleset Ruleset in a battle.

Battle Ruleset

  • Unprotected: Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs.
  • Explosive Weaponry: All Monsters have the Blast ability.
  • Wands Out: Only Monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles.
  • Active Units : Fire, Water, Earth, Life, and Dragon
  • Mana Cap : 19

Blast Ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the opponent player's recent battles and considered the ruleset of the battle, I could predict that the opponent player would use the Void Ability and Phase Ability in this battle. Additionally, since the battle had the Explosive Weaponry Ruleset, all monsters in this battle would have the Blast Ability. Frankly, my chances of winning this battle with only Magic Attack Monsters were very low. But I had a better chance of winning this battle with Quora Towershead, who has both Magic Attacks and Melee Attacks, so I will add Quora Towershead to my team in this battle.

First of all, I chose Lobb Lowland as the Summoner to be able to use the Quora Towershead card, since Lobb Lowland allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle.

Quora Towershead has the Heal Ability and 12 health so I put her in the first position. It was also a great advantage that Quora Towershead had the Bloodlust Ability.

And I put Djinn Biljka with Void Ability in the second position. Since Djinn Biljka has the Void Ability, it would not take any damage from Blast from 2 or less Magic attacks. Additionally, it would not take back damage from Magic Reflect.

Frankly, although this strategy seems simple, it is a strategy that can be very effective in such battles.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

Battle Link

To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was also quite good. It was wise to use Void Ability and Phase Ability in such a battle. Frankly, considering my deck, it was impossible to win this battle without Quora Towershead, so I was lucky to add Quora Towershead to my team. In this battle, there were 2 monsters on my team and the opponent's team. Both monsters on the opposing team had Void Ability and Phase Ability.

In the first round, Quora Towershead hit the target with melee attacks even though she missed with magic attacks. In this battle, it was much more important for Quora Towershead to hit the target with melee attacks, as this meant that both Void Dragon and Djinn Oshannus would take damage. Considering the opposing team, melee attacks would be much more effective than magic attacks in this battle. Fortunately, the opposing team didn't have any cards with melee attacks.

Additionally, even though Quora Towershead took 3 magic attack damage, the damage she took did not matter because she had the Heal Ability. This made the attacks of enemy monsters insignificant. Additionally, since the second position monster in both teams had Void Ability, they did not take damage from Blast.

Round 2

In the second round, both Quora Towershead and Djinn Biljka missed Void Dragon. Even if enemy monsters hit Quora Towershead, she could restore the 3 damage she took thanks to the Heal Ability. Frankly, the opposing team had no chance of winning this battle, I can say that Quora Towershead's miss only caused the battle to last longer.

Round 3

The third round was like a repeat of the first round, with the only difference being that the health of the monsters on the opposing team was decreasing. At the end of the third round, Void Dragon has only 1 health left.

Round 4

In the fourth round, Quora Towershead managed to destroy Void Dragon and thus received +1 to all her stats. And only Djinn Oshannus remained on the opposing team.

Round 5

In the fifth round, Quora Towershead also managed to destroy Djinn Oshannus and my team won this very tough battle.

Even though the battle was 19 mana, it lasted 5 rounds, which showed that both players' strategies were quite good, but my team won this battle because my strategy worked better. Additionally, this battle clearly showed how effective the Void Ability is in such battles. The fact that Quora Towershead has both Magic Attacks and Melee Attacks and the Heal Ability played a big role in winning this battle, so I can say that Quora Towershead is one of my favorite cards in such battles. It was also admirable that by the end of the battle, Quora Towershead had 4 Magic Attacks, 4 Melee Attacks, 5 Speed, and 14 Health. I recommend you to watch this amazing and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.
