I will share one of my most interesting battles with the Taking Sides ruleset, I hope you like it.

Battle Ruleset

• Born Again: All Monsters have the Rebirth ability.
• Taking Sides: Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles.

MY STRATEGY

Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the last 5 battles of the opposing player, I predicted that the opposing player would use Sneak Monsters and Magic Attack Monsters in this battle and determined my strategy accordingly.

While I will use the Magic Reflect Ability in the front line, I will use the Thorns Ability in the last position. My goal in this battle was to do back damage to enemy Sneak and Magic attackers and make them take damage.

First of all, I chose General Sloan as the summoner so that Ranged Attack Monsters attack the target more powerfully. I will also add Monsters with Repair Ability or Tank Heal Ability to the team to benefit the team. Finally, I will add Pelacor Arbalest, which has the Double Strike Ability, to the team.

Also, I thought a lot about adding the Amplify Ability to such a strategy, but I would like to point out that I gave up on it because I couldn't decide which card to remove from the team.

• Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy units by 1.

LINE UP

Summoner : GENERAL SLOAN

General Sloan is a Life Summoner who grants +1 Ranged Attack to all friendly Ranged Attack Monsters.

Position 1: BLINDING REFLECTOR

Blinding Reflector is a Life Monster that can attack the target with a Melee Attack and has Magic Reflect Ability at level 5. The main reason I added Blinding Reflector to the team was because it has the Magic Reflect Ability, and I put it in the first position.

• Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

Position 2: PELACOR CONJURER

Pelacor Conjurer is a Life Monster that has no attack power and has Flying Ability and Magic Reflect Ability from level 4. The main reason I added Pelacor Conjurer to my team was because it has the Magic Reflect Ability, and I put it in the second position.

• Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
• Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

Position 3: ADELADE BRIGHTWING

Adelade Brightwing is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Flying Ability, Repair Ability and Resurrect Ability at level 2. The main reasons I added Adelade Brightwing to the team was because it has Repair Ability and Resurrect Ability, and I put it in the third position.

• Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
• Repair Ability : Restores a third of max armor to the friendly Unit whose armor has taken the most damage.
• Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Unit dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.

Position 4: VENARI CRYSTALSMITH

Venari Crystalsmith is a Life Monster that can attack the target with a Ranged Attack and has Tank Heal Ability from level 1. The main reasons I added Venari Crystalsmith to the team was because it has Tank Heal Ability, and I put it in the fourth position.

• Tank Heal Ability : Restores a third of max health to the Unit in the first position each round.

Position 5: PELACOR ARBALEST

Pelacor Arbalest is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Ranged Attacks and has Double Strike Ability from level 1. The main reasons I added Pelacor Arbalest to the team was because it has Double Strike Ability, and I put it in the fifth position.

• Double Strike Ability : This unit attacks twice each round.

Position 6: EVELYN AUVERA

Evelyn Auvera is a Life Monster that has no attack power and has Immunity Ability and Thorns Ability at level 4. Although Evelyn Auvera does not have attack power, I added it to the team and put it in the last position because I believed that it would be very effective in this battle with its Thorns Ability. My plan was to ensure that the enemy Sneak Monsters were destroyed by taking damage from Thorns.

• Immunity Ability : This unit is immune to negative status effects.
• Thorns Ability : When hit with a Melee attack, does 2 Melee damage back to the attacker.

Round 1

Frankly, the opposing player's strategy was very close to my prediction, but having the Celestial Harpy with the Opportunity Ability on the opposing team annoyed me a bit because it was the only monster that could mess up my strategy.

In the first round, it was admirable that all monsters hit their targets, but the fact that enemy Sneak Monsters and Magic Attack Monsters took back damage after hitting their targets was a big disadvantage for them, but a big advantage for my team. It was a bit annoying that Celestial Harpy had the Pelacor Arbalest as its target, and I guess it wasn't going to stop until it destroyed it.

Round 2

The second round was like a repeat of the first round in terms of the monsters' attack. In the second round, a monster from the opposing team and a monster from my team were destroyed, and both of them were resurrected with 1 health thanks to the Rebirth Ability.

Round 3

In this battle, Thorns Ability and Magic Reflect Ability were working very well for my team, allowing Sneak Monsters and the opposing team's Adelade Brightwing to take serious damage. Frankly, if I had added Dax Paragon with the Amplify Ability to my team, it would have allowed them to take more serious damage, but since it would be the first target of the Celestial Harpy, not much would change.

Round 4

Each round in the battle was like a repetition of the previous one, frankly, the opposing team seemed to have no chance of winning. I can say that the Rebirth Ability and Resurrect Ability only made the battle last longer.

Round 5

Celestial Harpy managed to destroy Pelacor Arbalest, but now its target was Evelyn Auvera, so it too would take back damage from Thorns.

Round 6

Melee Attack Monsters were still taking damage from Thorns, Adelade Brightwing was still taking damage from Magic Reflect, and almost all of them had used Rebirth Ability, which meant that they would no longer be resurrected.

Round 7

In the seventh round, Celestial Harpy was also destroyed and only Kra'ar Xoc remained on the opposing team, and it had no attack power, so I can now say that my team won the battle. Kra'ar Xoc having 13 health would only cause the battle to last 2 more rounds.

Round 8

Round 9

It was noteworthy that although the battle cost 31 mana, it lasted 9 rounds. At the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 5 monsters on my team were still alive. To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was also good, but my strategy worked much better. Especially the fact that I used the Thorns Ability and the Magic Reflect Ability was very useful in this battle, and although the opposing team was quite powerful, my team won this battle very easily. Of course, I can say that reviewing the recent 5 battles of the opponent player was very effective in this, so I attach great importance to reviewing the recent battles of my opponents before starting the battle.
