Venice - a city unlike any other

Hello everyone!

Venice is another city that I had the opportunity to visit during my trip to Italy. I guess everyone knows what makes this city stand out from others. I have seen this city many times in photos and films and knew what to expect, but it looks much better in real life and made a great impression on me. Once you take the train to the Venezia Santa Lucia terminus and leave it at the Grand Canal, it's a different world.

Witam wszystkich!

Wenecja to kolejne miasto, które miałem okazję zwiedzić podczas wycieczki do Włoch. Chyba każdy wie, czym te miasto wyróżnia się od innych. Sam wielokrotnie widziałem to miasto na zdjęciach czy filmach i wiedziałem czego mam się spodziewać, jednak na żywo wygląda zdecydowanie dużo lepiej i zrobiło na mnie spore wrażenie. Po dotarciu pociągiem do końcowej stacji Venezia Santa Lucia i wyjściu z niej nad Canal Grande widać, że jest to inny świat.

I took the photos from the square in front of the railway station on the main canal - Grand Canal. In the photo on the left you can see the Ponte degli Scalzi stone bridge from 1934.

Zdjęcia wykonałem z placu przed stacją kolejową nad głównym kanałem - Canal Grande. Na zdjęciu po lewej stronie widać kamienny most Ponte degli Scalzi z 1934 roku.

The church of San Simeon Piccolo with its green dome stands out from other buildings. This is actually the first view after leaving the station.

Kościół San Simeon Piccolo z zieloną kopułą wyróżnia się spośród innych budynków. Jest to właściwie pierwszy widok po wyjściu ze stacji.

There are also ferry stops here. I had the opportunity to sail through the main canal on one of them.

Znajdują się tutaj również przystanki dla promów. Jednym z nich miałem okazję płynąć głównym kanałem.

You can also reach this historic center of Venice by car and park in one of the large parking lots. However, it is not possible to drive in the old town itself.

Do tego historycznego centrum Wenecji można również dojechać samochodem i zaparkować na jednym z dużym parkingów. Jednak po samym starym mieście nie ma możliwości jazdy samochodem.

Apart from the ferry, you can also take a gondola ride or a smaller boat ride through the canals. It all depends on the preferences and budget of the tourist ;)

Poza promem można przepłynąć się kanałami gondolą czy mniejszą łódką. Wszystko zależy od preferencji i zasobności portfela turysty ;)

Approximately 50,000 people currently live in the historic center.

W historycznym centrum mieszka obecnie ok 50 000 ludzi.

Many buildings are now hotels for tourists. Of course, this old town has a large number of different bars, restaurants and shops.

Sporo budynków to są obecnie hotele dla turystów. Oczywiście w tym starym mieście znajduje spora liczba różnych barów, restauracji czy sklepików.

For me, Venice is the most interesting and unforgettable city I have visited so far.

Dla mnie Wenecja to najciekawsze i niezapomniane miasto jakie do tej pory zwiedziłem.
