Con Matías a un nuevo torneo [Esp/Eng]

Espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, y que hayan tenido un buen fin de semana. Nosotros estuvimos ocupados con un torneo de ajedrez bastante largo de mi hijo Matías, el híbrido del sur.

Estos torneos son en línea y los muchachos juegan con personas en otros países. En este, eran jugadores de Suramérica, y era un torneo clásico que son los más largos, las rondas eran de 60 minutos y un incremento de 30 segundos por jugada. Eran 6 rondas nada más, pero por lo largo dividen el torneo en 2 días.

El sábado jugaron tres rondas y el domingo tres más, esas rondas algunas duraron más de dos horas. Tenían de horario una a las 9 am, otra a la 1 pm y la última a las 4 pm.

El primer día fuimos todos y Miranda llevó algunos juegos de mesa para pasar el rato ella y yo, porque mi esposa @rlathulerie estaba ocupada con un onboarding de Hive con algunas personas del ajedrez o se pone a hablar con las amigas.

A Matías, a pesar de ser su primera vez en este tipo de torneos y con gente veterana no le fue mal, logró hacer tablas (empatar) dos partidos y ganar uno de los 6, así que solo perdió tres y eso es un avance. Estamos tratando de inscribirlo en una buena academia para que mejore sus resultados, pero lo importante es que lo disfruta.

En este torneo había 38 participantes y Matías quedó en el puesto 28, pero fue un gran esfuerzo y estamos contentos con su desempeño, sabemos que con práctica le va a ir mejor. La selección de Venezuela quedó entre los 3 primeros lugares en sí categoría, y ahí estaba uno de la isla. Así que fue un buen trabajo de la selección Margariteña

Hope everyone is doing great, and that you all had a good weekend. We were busy with a rather long chess tournament of my son Matias, the southern hybrid.

These tournaments are online and the boys play with people in other countries. In this one, they were players from South America, and it was a classic tournament which are the longest, the rounds were 60 minutes and an increment of 30 seconds per move. There were only 6 rounds, but due to the length of the tournament they divided the tournament in 2 days.

On Saturday they played three rounds and on Sunday three more, some of them lasted more than two hours. They had one at 9 am, another at 1 pm and the last one at 4 pm.

The first day we all went and Miranda brought some board games to hang out she and I, because my wife @rlathulerie was busy with a Hive onboarding with some chess people or she gets to talk to friends.

Matías, despite being his first time in this kind of tournaments and with veteran people didn't do bad, he managed to draw two games and win one of the 6, so he only lost three and that's a progress. We are trying to enroll him in a good academy to improve his results, but the important thing is that he enjoys it.

In this tournament there were 38 participants and Matias was in 28th place, but it was a great effort and we are happy with his performance, we know that with practice he will do better. The Venezuelan team was among the first 3 places in each category, and there was one from the island. So it was a good job by the Margarita team.
