Lunch at BananaBro

Eating at Mamak is consider a norm for me. However, eating a South Indian cuisine is a new experience for me. What interesting was, the meals are served on a banana leaf platter.

The restaurant name that I went to is called BananaBro. It is located at lower ground floor of The Garden Mall, Bangsar.

I went to BananaBro early last month with my colleagues for lunch. When we were there, the restaurant was full. I and my colleagues had to queue outside of the restaurant for almost 40 minutes before we were able to get a table.

Once we were at the table, the waitress hand us the menu. I'm not sure what to order since it was my first time dining there. After browsing through the menu, I decided to order the lunch set.

The lunch set consists of one rice, cucumber salad, curry potato, fried bitter gourd, and four type of curry to choose from. The lunch set also comes with a glass of iced milk tea.

My colleagues ordered the same thing. But he then made an add-on order of a bowl of squid ring and a bowl of spicy dry mutton curry. He order those add-on for us to share.

Finishing the whole lunch set is a challenge for us. The normal lunch set alone is considered a lot for an adult 😅. In the end, my friend had to take away the add-on order.

For those who wanted to eat at BananaBro, I would advise not to order the ice milk tea to go with the lunch set. The combination of the lunch set and iced milk tea made me feel queasy.

I think the best drink to order is the plain water or lemon drink.
