Lost in My Own Phone
Hive learners have always attracted me with their excellent topics, and once again, despite my busy schedule, I took out time to write on this topic, which also turned out to be an amazing activity for me. I haven't been very active online these days, and I haven't been able to write on Hive Learner topics, but this particular topic made me check my phone, and once I got involved in this activity, I thought, why not write about it too? I really liked the activity and blogging.
We usually install apps on our phones that we think we need to use, but this isn't entirely true. During this activity, I realized how many useless apps are installed on my phone, and I was surprised. I think I only use about 50% of the installed apps, maybe even less. The reason is that I'm not a heavy mobile user and only use it for work. Yet, my phone still has many useless apps installed, and even after realizing this, my laziness kept me from uninstalling them, hahaha.
First of all, I noticed some apps that come pre-installed with the phone, and I think we can't uninstall them. For example, there’s an app called "AHA Games"—I have no idea what it is because I’ve never checked it out. When I tried to see if I could uninstall it, I couldn’t find the option, which makes me think it can’t be removed, so let’s just ignore it. Then there’s "File Manager" and another app called "Files," which seem to do the same job. I don’t really understand why there are two separate apps for the same function. Anyway, this could turn into a long discussion, so for now, I’ll just ignore this too.
Seeing the "Minetest" icon reminded me of the old days when I used to play it a lot, and many memories of my time in Neoxian City are attached to this game. I completed many tasks and won good prizes. I definitely don’t want to uninstall it, and I plan to start playing it again soon.
"MovieBox" and "My Health" icons got me excited. I had no idea these apps were installed on my phone! When I opened MovieBox, I saw options for the latest movies—Bollywood, Hollywood, and series—all available. I’m not sure yet if it’s free or pay-per-view, but either way, I was happy to discover I had something like this on my phone. As for the health app, wow! I’m really looking forward to exploring it.
Then there are some apps I use occasionally, like the ones related to trains, ID cards, and Instagram, which I use every now and then. Finally, let’s talk about two apps that I have no use for and have never used but are still installed on my phone: TikTok and Snapchat. The trend and popularity of these two apps have always put me off, which is why I never created an account or opened them on my phone—not even once. However, since I might need them for work in the future, I haven’t uninstalled them yet. You never know, they might become very important someday, so I’ll keep them around just in case. But honestly, I wouldn't care if I uninstalled them right now.
Through this activity, I got the chance to closely look at my phone and its apps, discovering both useful and new apps, as well as the useless ones, which I already had a hunch about. These are my choices, and I know my preferences are a bit different from others because of my age and mindset. Thank you, Hive Learners, for giving me this opportunity to learn about the apps installed on my own phone. Isn’t it funny? Hahaha
For moviebox, you don't have to pay to access movies, it's totally free. All you need is your data, to download or stream.
I think you're the only one who doesn't have an account on Snapchat and tiktok lol, but that's totally okay.
Thank you for the update, will definitely enjoy watching movies in the app now
yeah it seems like that to me as well, but I do have couple of my friends who do not have accounts in Snapchat and tiktok as well , hahahah yeah it is totally ok 😜
You're welcome 🤗
When it comes to the pre-installed apps the user should have the option to uninstall them. I used to have Pi in my phone but already uninstalled it any update if when the token will be released?
Pre-installed apps are mostly useless and I do agree with your point, they should have option of uninstall. Its 50-50 for Pi but hoping for the best that is why I keep mining it, hope to have some big and good news in 2025
