Golden Memory: My Nikah Day

My life is full of golden memories. Since childhood, I have enjoyed my life and each time I remember my past moments whether it is about my schooling, my sibling time, playing with my parents, fun time with friends and much more, each of them gives me a great pleasure and a big smile on my face.

It is very difficult for me to choose one of them however, I would like to go with the day when my life changes upside down. Yes, the sense of responsibility is felt and I believe that this is the moment when every one of us would feel different and definitely happy for stepping into a new life with life partner. It’s about my Nikah day which marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

I was a type of person who was not interested in getting married but anyhow, my Parents and my brothers made me understand the importance of this new life and made me agreed to get married but I had a condition, I gave this important task to my Mother to find a suitable life partner for me who can tolerate me. I am not an easy person to live with hehehe. My other condition was that my whole family that is my brothers along with their families will be here with me on this special day. In fact, we postponed Nikah day and waited for my Eldest bro to arrive with his family in Pakistan. I want my nephews and nieces to witness this special day and this was the biggest reason why this day is so important for me and gives me a big smile whenever I think of it.

I still the remember the fun we had in the bus while going to my wife’s house. We all were singing loudly and I was not looking in any stress which most of the people feel and look, nervous and worried. I was tension free and that is because of my family. Being the youngest, that day I felt the most how it feels to be the loveliest person of the family to whom each and every member of the family loves the most and care about a lot.

Reaching there, we met their family and all the guests. Qazi sahib, leads the Nikah ceremony by reciting the marriage contract. My friends were there too who were giving me a strange look on my behavior, I was totally in fun mood, didn’t overthink about anything. So relaxed and smiling while others were enjoying watching me. My family and friends still make fun of me for that day, he was not ready to get married but on that day, it was nothing looking like that by seeing the excitement and enjoyment I was carrying.

At last, those golden words “Qabool Hai” rocks the room. My acceptance and acknowledgment was so bold and confident that Qazi sahib was shocked too hehehe just joking. I mean I was not hesitated or low voice in saying that, I said it loud and clear “ G hain main apne Nikah main qabool karta hon” which means "Yes, I accept in my Nikah." Repeating the same thrice with the same energy and clarity. It was an epic moment for me. Definitely one of the most memorable and long lasting I mean never lasting moment for me. I am glad that I am blessed with a wonderful life partner.
