Eating out @A-One Snacks
As I mentioned in my last post about eating out at random restaurants, something exciting was supposed to happen during Friday lunch. Two weeks ago, the cost was 250 per person, but that was a lucky Friday. Today, nothing like that happened, and as expected, the salary hadn't come in yet, but the whole office was still eager for Friday lunch. I had already decided not to go out for lunch today, enough spending for now, and it's time to be a bit careful with money, but...
Coincidentally, one of my team members was absent today, and I took full advantage of that. After Friday prayers, when everyone was ready to head out for lunch, I said I wasn’t going. As usual, they all insisted, but this time, I didn’t listen and went upstairs. I sent one of my team members to prayers and took his place. After some time, my colleagues called me again, saying I should come and arrange for someone else to sit in the Customer Service department. Finally, I had to give in. I asked the newly hired telesales girl to sit in CS, got permission from the boss, and headed out for lunch.
As I was going down the stairs, I already knew today’s lunch was going to be expensive. One of our colleagues usually helps out by paying the bill with his credit card, and when the salary comes in, we all transfer him our share. This time, we went to A-One Snacks, where we had eaten a few months ago, and I had a feeling it would cost more than 600 per person.
No doubt, the food was good last time, and it was the same this time. Placing the order was quite a challenge, especially when everyone has different preferences. I’m not picky, so I just went with chowmein, since that’s what I was in the mood for. The others ordered a BBQ platter, club sandwich, malai tikka, mayo garlic roll, and beef handi biryani.
First, let’s talk about the chowmein, it was amazing! The taste was incredible, A-One quality for sure, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Next was the BBQ platter—the tikka was spicy and juicy on the inside, perfectly marinated and not burnt, which usually happens with BBQ. Both the malai boti and beef boti were delicious as well.
Club sandwiches don’t usually impress me, but here, it was really good. You could tell the people working at this restaurant put their heart into it.
The malai tikka was a showstopper even before tasting it—steaming hot with smoke rising, it looked amazing. I tasted a bit, and it was just as delicious as it looked. Eating it with paratha made it even better.
Now, for the biryani. I’m not a big fan of biryani, but others love it. The beef handi biryani was a new item on the menu, and we thought it would be something different, so we ordered it. However, I didn’t like it at all. It had a very plain taste, possibly because we had already eaten so many spicy dishes, or maybe we were already full. But even the person who ordered it didn’t like it, so overall, everything was great except the biryani. Since it was left over, we packed it to take away. This time, the cost per person was 850, which was expected, but after such good food, it was worth it.
Today, we really indulged and ordered whatever we wanted, knowing the bill would be high. But honestly, the lunch was really enjoyable. A-One Snacks truly lived up to its name.
In between all this, I had a mini photo session too, hoping to get a good picture, but whatever your face looks like, that’s what will come in the picture. Above are the pictures my colleague took with his phone, and the rest are the ones I took with my Infinix Hot 40i. Now let’s see what happens next Friday. Hoping for the best with reasonable prices!
