Early Morning visit @ Bin Qasim Park, Karachi
I’m going to share one of my funny stories. It’s funny to me, but I’m not sure if you all will feel the same way. I wanted to have my post-wedding photo shoot at the seaside at sunrise. I shared my desire with my eldest brother. I wanted to have as many photo shoots as possible with him because I really like his creativity in taking pictures. Plus, he’s my brother, so he knows how to capture me perfectly. It’s always fun to visit different places with him, and after my wedding, I tried my best to spend as much time with him as possible.
For the seaside photo shoot, he told me to get ready the next morning at 5 am. I was so excited about the sunrise photo shoot at the seaside. Dreaming of all that, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, it was 5:30 am. I hurriedly went outside and saw my brother and sister-in-law missing; they were not at home. I was so confused and had a strange feeling, definitely sad that I missed it and they both went to enjoy the sunrise alone. In a minute or so, my mind woke up and I woke up my wife, asking her to get ready as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I called my brother to get an update on where he was. He answered my second call and said, “We had a plan and will not ruin it because of you. You were sleeping, so I thought to enjoy the early morning sea view with my wife.” I was like, “What? It was my plan!” I said, “I am just coming to you in half an hour.” Immediately, I looked for an online car and luckily, I got one in no time.
While my wife and I were heading to the sea view, I got a call from my brother asking us to pick them up from Sea View. They were sitting in McDonald's. We picked them up and then my brother gave directions that led us to Bin Qasim Park. All of a sudden, a change of plan. On our way to Bin Qasim Park, my sister-in-law told us their story: they both went to Sea View early in the morning and there were many stray dogs that started barking and scared them. They walked to the nearby McDonald's, which was closed, but it says 24/7 so they knocked and asked to be let in for breakfast. They had a cup of coffee there, and then I called.
I asked my brother why we couldn’t have the sunrise photo shoot at Sea View. He said, “Because the sun will not rise over the sea as Karachi is on the southern coast of Pakistan along the Arabian Sea; we do have sunset in the sea.” My whole dream and plan were crushed by hearing that. I had imagined so much of the sunrise at the seaside but was unaware of this fact, which gave me a big shock. That feeling is so funny that I cannot describe it fully. Anyway, my brother decided to take sunrise pictures from the highest point of Bin Qasim Park and we went there in the same car.
I had been to this park in 2007 when it was newly built but didn’t remember much of it. However, this day was unforgettable due to all the mix-up. My brother did his best to make it up to me and we had a good time roaming around the place. It is a really big park, very neat, tidy, and well-maintained. I am talking about 2019; I haven’t been to this place since then, so I’m not sure how it is at the moment.
You can clearly see our faces, not properly washed, but we were so excited about the photo shoot that we joined my brother in no time. The funny thing is, we were unable to get any pictures with the sunrise; it was rising behind the building and my brother took some nice clicks for his own pages. I have shared some edited versions with the copyright tag of @shahzad-ansari. After roaming around a bit, we went back home and had breakfast. Early morning fun with my brother and sister-in-law are golden memories, especially for my wife, who really enjoyed the time we spent together.
All of the above pictures are taken by my Eldest bro through his NIKON D5100.
