I thought it was over

I have seen countless people shouting after receiving a gift and I have always told myself that I will never shout whenever I receive a gift from anyone.

But seriously there are some gifts you would receive and you wouldn't be able to control your emotion than to shout for joy. I am not the type that gets lucky with gifts in fact on my birthday I don't usually receive gifts except from my husband.

Some years ago before we got married he gave me a beautiful gift that I couldn't stop jumping up and shouting for joy over it.

It happened that we dated for years and whenever I asked him when we were getting married he would ignore the question in fact some of the arguments we've had so far in our relationship were because of marriage, he doesn't seem ready meanwhile he wouldn't let me go.

We had quarrels over the issue like every other day but this time I have made up my mind to leave him, maybe he was tired of me too I don't know. So we didn't talk to each other for some weeks and I took that as a goodbye without feeling bad about it.

It was exactly a month when he came back, I heard someone knocking on the door and my mom asked, "Rose are you expecting someone?".

"The only person that knocked like that and that I could expect is gone, so no I am not expecting anyone but let me get the door," I replied to my mom then went to open the sitting room door.

I found a box at the entrance without anyone standing there, so I picked it up and then went back inside.

"Who owns that," my mom asked.

"I don't know but let me check the name on it," I replied while I unwrapped the box. I saw a card where my name was written boldly.

"Mom it's mine but I don't know who sent it," I said to my mom.
"Ok let's see what is inside," she replied.

I opened the main box and I found a brand new phone, then I shouted, "OMG". Then took the phone and dropped the remaining box on the floor.

My mom thought something bad happened to me so she ran to where I was to see what happened.

"What is it?" She asked.

"Mom it's a brand new phone," I said to her.

My mom grabbed the box from the ground, "Rose you need to see this," she said.

I turned and then saw a ring that was putting on a sweet and another small card with it.

"What is this?" I asked while I grabbed the card and read what was written on it, "You are sweeter than honey babe, will you marry me?".

I quickly dropped everything and was about to go outside to see if I would see the person that dropped the package but by the time I got to the entrance, Feyi was on his knees with a rose in his hands.

"I thought we've broken up?" I asked looking at him on his knees.

My mom had already brought the ring and the sweet to him so he collected the ring and put it on my finger and then unwrapped the sweet the slipped it into my mouth.

We kissed and I replied with a fainted tune, "Yes I will marry you babe,".

I never knew everyone in the neighborhood was outside already because I was carried away by the moment I was with Feyi. “This is so sweet of you Feyi” my mom said.
