Reseña: Corer o Morir de James Dashner | Review: Run or Die by James Dashner

Al despertar dentro de un oscuro elevador en movimiento, lo único que Thomas logra recordar es su nombre. No sabe quién es. Tampoco hacia dónde va. Pero no está solo: cuando la caja llega a su destino, las puertas se abren y se ve rodeado por un grupo de jóvenes. “Bienvenido al Área, Novicio.”

El Área. Un espacio abierto cercado por muros gigantescos. Al igual que Thomas, ninguno de ellos sabe cómo ha llegado allí. Ni por qué. De lo que están seguros es de que cada mañana las puertas de piedra del laberinto que los rodea se abren y por la noche, se cierran. Y que cada treinta días alguien nuevo es entregado por el elevador.

Un hecho altera de forma radical la rutina del lugar: llega una chica, la primera enviada al Área. Y más sorprendente todavía es el mensaje que trae.

Thomas será más importante de lo que imagina. Pero para eso deberá descubrir los sombríos

secretos guardados en su mente. Por alguna razón, sabe que para lograrlo debe correr. Correr será la clave. O morirá

Fue un libro que me costó seguir leyendo, hasta un poco más de la mitad fue cuando me gustó en verdad. La historia se vuelve muy interesante y en cada capítulo sucede algo nuevo que te deja con ganas de seguir leyendo hasta el final. Terminé la mitad del libro en unas pocas horas siendo que la primera mitad me costó unos días.

La manera en que se va desarrollando la historia hasta el final es totalmente inesperada, emocionante e interesante. Considero que la historia podría haber terminado con el primer libro y una breve explicación por parte de algunas personas.

Maze Runner es una historia muy buena que me ha gustado mucho aunque no tanto al principio y que sin duda seguiré leyendo sus siguientes libros.

Waking up in a dark, moving elevator, the only thing Thomas can remember is his name. He doesn't know who he is. Nor where he is going. But he is not alone: when the box reaches its destination, the doors open and he is surrounded by a group of young men. "Welcome to the Area, Novice."

The Area. An open space enclosed by giant walls. Like Thomas, none of them know how they got there. Nor why. What they are sure of is that every morning the stone gates of the labyrinth around them open and at night, they close. And that every thirty days someone new is delivered by the elevator.

An event radically alters the routine of the place: a girl arrives, the first one sent to the Area. And even more surprising is the message she brings.

Thomas will be more important than he imagines. But for that he will have to discover the dark secrets

secrets kept in his mind. For some reason, he knows that to do so, he must run. Running will be the key. Or he will die.

This was a book that was hard for me to keep reading, it wasn't until a little over halfway through that I really enjoyed it. The story becomes very interesting and in each chapter something new happens that leaves you wanting to keep reading until the end. I finished half of the book in a few hours whereas the first half took me a few days.

The way the story unfolds until the end is totally unexpected, exciting and interesting. I feel that the story could have ended with the first book and a brief explanation by some people.

Maze Runner is a very good story that I liked a lot although not so much at the beginning and I will certainly continue reading his next books.
