Wstęp:

O Londynie chyba słyszał każdy , ta ogromna metropolia zamieszkała jest przez 8,982 mln mieszkańców (dane z 2019 roku) a jego obszar sięga 1572 km² co czyni go 3 największym miastem Europy. Miasto to jest 2 na świecie pod względem wielkości centrum finansowym. Historia tego miasta jest niezwykle bogata , począwszy od niewielkiej osady założonej przez rzymian , przez średniowiecze , kolonizację , okres industrializacji  itp itd , o Londynie można by było pisać książkę co zresztą nie raz miało miejsce . Zobaczmy więc chociaż niewielki fragment tej ogromnej multikulturowej, bogatej metropolii ,która na każdym kroku potrafi zaskoczyć. a zaczniemy okolicy dworca kolejowego  Victoria Station .

(W tym miejscu też wrzucam Vlog na temat Londynu by zapoznać się z tym miastem na żywo. Ten Materiał Filmowy jak i Blog wzajemnie się uzupełniają ,ale mogą byc oglądane niezależnie od siebie , polecam przełączenie jakości filmu na 1080 p oraz 60kl/s)

Introduction:

Probably everyone has heard about London, this huge metropolis is inhabited by 8.982 million inhabitants (data from 2019) and its area reaches 1572 km², which makes it the 3rd largest city in Europe. The city is the 2nd largest financial center in the world. The history of this city is extremely rich, ranging from a small settlement founded by the Romans, through the Middle Ages, colonization, industrialization, etc., etc., you could write a book about London, which has happened more than once. So let's see at least a small fragment of this huge multicultural, rich metropolis, which can surprise you at every step. and we will start around Victoria Station.

City of Westminster

Sam dworzec Victoria (station) znajduję się w Dzielnicy City of Westminster i jest jednym z głównych dworców kolejowych w Londynie .Otoczona jest zarówno starymi budowlami ,jak i nowoczesnymi przeszklonymi drapaczami chmur i blokami. Zasadniczo cała dzielnica to mozaika architektoniczna , bo to tu możemy co rusz napotkać na stare kościoły ,budynki mieszkalne , czy takie Perełki jak :

• Pałac Westminsterski
• Big Ben
• Buckingham Palace
• Clarence House
• St. James’s Palace
• St. James’s Park
• Downing Street – 10 Downing Street 

A jest tego o wile wiele więcej . I to wszystko miesza się z nowoczesnością ,pospiechem ,ruchem , i współczesnym stylem życia całego Londynu.
(o ile się nie mylę City of Westminster ma również status Gminy)

City of Westminster

Victoria Station itself is located in the City of Westminster and is one of London's main train stations, surrounded by old buildings as well as modern glass skyscrapers and blocks of flats. Basically, the entire district is an architectural mosaic, because here we can come across old churches, residential buildings, or such gems as:

• Palace Westminster
• Big Ben
• Buckingham Palace
• Clarence House
• St. James’s Palace
• St. James’s Park
• Downing Street – 10 Downing Street 

And there is much more to it. And all this is mixed with modernity, haste, movement, and the contemporary lifestyle of all of London.

(as far as I'm not mistaken, the City of Westminster also has the status of a Borough)

Pałac Buckingham

Tu docieramy do jednego do podobno największego pałacu królewskiego na świecie który został wybudowany w 1837 i aż po dziś dzień służy jak siedziba królewskiej rodziny. Niestety nie jesteśmy w stanie go zobaczyć ponieważ tego dnia gdy zwiedzaliśmy Londyn ,trwały przygotowania na platynowy jubileusz panowania królowej Elżbiety (70 lat panowania ) i cały pałac wraz z ogromnym przylegającym do niego parkiem został otoczony ochraną i policja , a sam park stał się miejscem budowy ogromnych trybun oraz estrady. Dlatego tez ruszamy dalej w kierunku 10 Downing Street czyli siedziby byłego już premiera Borisa Johnsona.

Buckingham Palace

Here we reach one of the supposedly largest royal palace in the world, which was built in 1837 and serves as the seat of the royal family until today. Unfortunately, we are not able to see it because on the day when we were visiting London, preparations were underway for the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth's reign (70 years of reign) and the entire palace with the huge park adjacent to it was surrounded by security and the police, and the park itself became a construction site huge stands and stage. That is why we move further towards 10 Downing Street, the seat of the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

10 Downing Street

Jak sami wiedziecie potwierdzaj się moje słowa dotyczące mieszanki starego z nowy jeżeli chodzi o budowle ,ale mimo wszystko ma to jakiś swoisty ład. Ale ale ... 10 Downing Street to był ostatnio jedno z najgorętszych miejsc w Wielkiej Brytanii z powodu imprez członków rząd w ogrodzie tego miejsca podczas lockdownów  , ostatecznie przyczyniło się to również do rezygnacji ze stanowiska premiera Borisa Johnsona.  Sam numer 10 tego adresu to miejsce rezydencji premiera Wielkiej Brytanii oraz siedziba rządu. Tak naprawdę  pod tym numerem znajduję się parę budynków. Pierwotnie składał się on z 3  budowli , tzw "domu na tyłach , numeru 10 ,oraz niewielkiego budynku obok . Niestety Downing Street  jak i numer 10 są pilnie strzeżone i wejść tam bez pozwolenia nie wolno , co oczywiście jest rzeczą jasną 

10 Downing Street

As you know, confirm my words about the mixture of old and new when it comes to buildings, but it still has some kind of order. But but ... 10 Downing Street was one of the hottest spots in the UK lately due to government party gardening events at the site during the lockdowns, ultimately contributing to Boris Johnson's resignation as Prime Minister. Number 10 of this address is the residence of the Prime Minister of Great Britain and the seat of government. There are actually a couple of buildings under that number. It originally consisted of 3 buildings, the so-called "house at the back, number 10, and a small building next door. Unfortunately, Downing Street and Number 10 are closely guarded and you cannot enter without permission, which is obviously obvious.

Big Ben i Pałac Westminster

To chyba jedne z najbardziej rozpoznawalnych budowli na świecie które są  wręcz ikonami Londynu (jest jeszcze jedna ale o niej w kolejnym blogu), zacznijmy od Big Bena.
Big Ben to budowla neogotycka ,której budowę rozpoczęto po wielkim pożarze z 16 października 1834 który to strawił większą część pałacu Westminsterskiego  ,i sama wieża była tylko częścią wielkiego planu odbudowy pałacu. Big Ben to nazwa potoczna która kiedyś dotyczyła 
dzwonu ze St. Stephen’s Tower. Oficjalna nazwa to Elizabeth Tower

Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster

This is probably one of the most recognizable buildings in the world that are even icons of London (there is one more, but about it in the next blog), let's start with Big Ben. Big Ben is a neo-Gothic building, the construction of which began after the great fire of October 16, 1834, which consumed it most of the Palace of Westminster, and the tower itself was only part of a grand plan to rebuild the palace. Big Ben is a common name that used to refer to the bell from St. Stephen's Tower. The official name is Elizabeth Tower

Pałac Westminster

Ta wspaniała i ogromna budowla , jest nie tylko perłą architektoniczną Londynu ale także miejscem obrad parlamentu Brytyjskiego. Historia tego neogotyckiego pałacu sięga roku 1016 kiedy to Knut Wielki rozpoczął jego budowlę, oczywiście reprezentował on inny styl. W 13 wieku stał się centrum państwowości angielskiej i służył jako siedziba monarszy do 1512 rok. Został On przebudowany i powiększony w 17 wieku  by następnie jak już pisałem ulec niemal zmieszczeniu w pożarze w 1834 roku i zostać odbudowany w okresie 1840–1870 przez Charles Barry. Obecnie jest w trakcie gruntownego remontu. 

Palace of Westminster

This magnificent and huge building is not only an architectural gem of London, but also the place of debates of the British Parliament. The history of this neo-gothic palace dates back to 1016 when Knut the Great started its construction, of course it represented a different style. In the 13th century it became the center of English statehood and served as the seat of the monarch until 1512. It was rebuilt and enlarged in the 17th century, then, as already mentioned, it was almost burn out into a fire in 1834 ,and rebuilt in the period 1840-1870 by Charles Barry. It is currently undergoing a major renovation.
