Cyberpunk 2077 in 2023

December this year we'll hit 3 years of Cyberpunk 2077's existence, wow! Time surely is moving fast.

Cyberpunk created hype like no other, for close to a decade, but just after the release it lost all that hype and trust too. If you're gonna create the hype, then you better be able to back it up in double.

Yet, with time a clusterfuck of an unplayable game that was getting thrashed left and right, turned into quite the hit; thanks to the devs for making some minor, yet crucial changes, and thanks to Cyberpunk Edgrerunners for brining back the hype with some fresh new audience and players too.

Who knew a 10 Episode animated series would actually bring life back to a "dead" and buggy game?

Cyberpunk was announced back in 2012, that's 3 years before Witcher 3's release, and the hype surely was real.

Alas, at release we got a game that was bugged up to the teeth, unplayable is the word. And by the time the devs could fix a damn thing, people had already left. Bad reviews, low scores, a lot of trash talking, Cyberpunk and CD Projekt RED saw it all; however, they did deserve it.

The game can have a ton of amazing features, an admirable story, and lifelike graphics, but if you can't even play it properly, then what's the use?

A game that has been in the making for 8 years shouldn't have been this buggy. The only other game that was thrashed as much or was just as buggy probably was Battlefield 2042. But Battlefield 2042 wasn't a decade old project.

Both the games created immense hype, but a ton of bugs f*cked it all up.

I've put in 20 hours into the game so far, and it does feel a bit rushed sometimes. From what I've heard, the devs cut out a lot of features and options, so that may just be the case.

At first it's quite boring, no cash, no running and gunning, not much exploration either, you're just given orders that you have to obey. But after your rebirth, with a second chance to life, you are given the freedom to choose from various paths.

And that's where the fun begins.

I got the game last year for $12 only, which is one hell of a deal, but I'm only getting the time to play now. Yet, at least the wait was worth it, other than some fps drops I don't see too many issues now. The experience now is fairly smooth, but I wish I could experience it with proper RTX settings on.

So far I've been enjoying the game, mostly focusing on side quests and gigs, while levelling up my character with top notch equipments.

The biggest crime in this game would be for someone to simply rush through the main story without building up their character, while fully disregarding some amazing side quests. Yet, that's what most people do, and then dare to call such games "boring".

If you don't even indulge in the whole experience, then how do you expect the game to be amusing?

Of course, other than the protagonist we also have some amazing characters and antagonists.

These folks are the ones who make such games memorable; a character that is a ride or die buddy, the lover, the guru, and the annoying enemy "bosses", these characters when mixed with an amazing story, can lead to an experience of a lifetime.

The Witcher 3 is undoubtedly my favorite game of all time. No matter how much I grind in the competitive FPS scene, such story mode and single player games will always be close to my heart.

The funny thing is, Cyberpunk and Witcher 3 are both made by CD Projekt RED.

Now, will Cybperpunk take RDR 2's place in second spot on my list? Or will it compete for first place?

To be honest, I think Cyberpunk won't even hit top 3, but will definitely get fourth on the list, taking Fallout 4's spot. Yet, I could be wrong.

Number 3 for me is Assassins Creed Black Flag. And considering RDR 2 just being a cowboy version of Witcher 3, I bet both these games and realms will be fighting for first place for as long as I'm gaming.

Putting the stories and missions aside, I'd just like to appreciate how good the graphics and some areas are in Cyberpunk, especially during night time.

Witcher 3 was way ahead of its time in many aspects, and RDR 2 was a beefed up version of Witcher 3, taking the graphics of nature, physics and immersion to unparalleled levels. But Cyberpunk has managed to takeover the modern world and the city life, giving it a futuristically colorful and sharp finish. Cyberpunk maintains its satisfactory physics and immersion, but there's not much nature here.

Yet, many of the very basic scenes in the buildings and streets are just so photogenic. Sometimes I just stand around and admire it all, while taking a few screenshots like the ones you see above.

Over a decade of waiting, and I'm finally experiencing this game.

It was the longest I've waited for a game, and even though at release it was quite a disappointment, now they've somewhat managed to redeem themselves. Yet, it could've been much better, if not for the buggy release, and if they didn't cut out a lot of content.

However, with the new DLC we'll hopefully get access to some of the previous content that were all left on a cliffhanger in some missions.

But, I'm taking my time for now, I'll think about the DLC after I'm done with the main game.

I love this game and can spend hoouurrrrssss just playing around with photomode. The environment is fantastic!

I've been itching to play it again, but I'm waiting for that DLC first... which is being released at the most annoying time — when I'll be entrenched in Starfield. -_- haha.

I'm still thinking about getting the DLC, $30 for a DLC which I don't know much about, seems like a lot. 💀

Yet, I have time. I'm only 20 hours in on the main game, so I'm guessing that I'll be investing way more time into the main game for now. After I'm done with exploring and completing the main part properly, then I'll probably get the DLC. By that time I'll be able to check out some gameplay too.

The game is actually quite smooth now, it did crash randomly a few times, but all is good.

I'm really waiting for the DLC, while I build up my character from top to bottom with top notch chrome. 🔥
