➤ If you are looking for a game where you can just hang out killing cowboys for fun to take your mind off the world and stress or anxiety, I think this is the game for you, or at least it is for me. Call of Juarez seems to me a rather curious installment that mixes a lot of the old west aspect with a world full of action somewhat fictional but very fun, where we will not find a great story or great map and sequences, but constant shootings that will help us to distract us from everything. So, let's get started.

➤ What I find most curious about this game is the context of its story, since basically we will be living the stories of our protagonist, which is a bounty hunter who will be telling his legendary stories to some people in a bar, and while he tells the story, we will be playing it. As I said at the beginning the story is not very detailed, we will simply go through sequence hunting people who are important either for being criminals or gang leaders, or simply people who had a rivalry with our protagonist. Even so, I like the way the story is told, because it is simple, direct, and fun.

➤ The gameplay is extremely fun, the action is continuous and we will be a kind of legendary bounty hunter almost indestructible killing mercenaries as god commands, there is not much variety of weapons but those that there are for me are enough since I only go with the revolver killing everyone. It has many mechanics that make it quite unique and fun and also others that are very similar to games that have already implemented them, such as the dead eye of Red Dead Redemption, which is basically a kind of slow motion where we can shoot all the enemies we want, we can do something very similar in this game. One of the mechanics that seems craziest to me is that every so often there is a chance that an enemy will shoot at us and time slows down and we can dodge the bullet depending on the direction in which it comes from, it's something super crazy haha.

➤ Another mechanic very similar to Red Dead Redemption is the duel system, where basically meets the same premise, a duel of cowboy revolers throughout history, although here to perform it we must maintain a level of concentration of the sight near our enemy and also position our hand near our weapon to be able to draw it faster, our own speed depends on winning the duel, and believe me it is quite complicated because the enemies are very fast, even so, it is a quite enjoyable mechanic.

➤ Another thing I love is the presentation of the bosses, in a kind of comic book style vignette that is really brutal. There are many ways to face the enemy leaders, personally I love the duels and I dislike a little the most common which is to fight directly against them face to face with a clean shot, which I find very unrealistic because the bosses get a life bar where you basically have to give them 20 shots to kill them, which takes away a lot of realism and immersion to the game, especially when I have to give him 20 shots but he kills me with 3 shots.

➤ We also have a system of levels and skills where we can focus on improving the weapons that we like, whether revolvers, rifles or shotguns, are pretty good benefits that will help us in all the frenetic combat that the game has, as we will constantly be shooting without rest, and will depend much on our level to pass the scenarios and the weapons we choose to use.

➤ Graphically the game really isn't that pretty, but for a game from quite a few years ago it still looks good and plays in a fresh way, it has a somewhat cartoon style of graphics, maybe you could say, and with a color filter that I don't really love, especially in the dark areas where it is very difficult to see the enemies. Even so, the graphics feel pretty good, although perhaps they could have been better, or at least not have used that style of design and that color filter.

➤ Si están buscando un juego donde simplemente pasar el rato matando vaqueros por diversión para despreocuparse un poco del mundo y el estrés o ansiedad, creo que perfectamente este es el juego, o al menos así lo es para mí. Call of Juarez me parece una entrega bastante curiosa que mezcla mucho el aspecto del viejo oeste con un mundo lleno de acción algo ficticia pero muy divertida, donde no encontraremos una gran historia o grandes mapa y secuencias, pero sí tiroteos constantes que nos ayudarán a distraernos de todo. Así que, empecemos.

➤ Lo que me parece más curioso de este juego es el contexto de su historia, ya que básicamente iremos viviendo los relatos de nuestro protagonista, el cual es un cazarecompensas que estará contándole sus historias legendarias a unas personas en un bar, y mientras que cuenta la historia, nosotros iremos jugándola. Como dije al inicio la historia no es muy detallada, simplemente iremos por secuencia cazando gente que es importante ya sea por ser criminales o lideres de bandas, o simplemente personas que tuvieron una rivalidad con nuestro protagonista. Aún así me gusta la forma en que se cuenta la historia, porque es sencilla, directa, y divertida.

➤ El gameplay es extremadamente divertido, la acción es continua y seremos una especie de cazarecompensas legendario casi indestructible matando mercenarios como dios manda, no hay mucha variedad de armas pero las que hay para mí son suficientes ya que solamente voy con el revolver asesinando a todos. Tiene muchas mecánicas que lo hacen bastante único y divertido y también otras que son muy similares a juegos que ya las han implementado, como por ejemplo el dead eye de Red Dead Redemption, que es básicamente una especie de cámara lenta donde podremos disparar a todos los enemigos que queramos, podemos hacer algo muy similar en este juego. Una de las mecánicas que más loca me parece es que cada cierto tiempo existe la probabilidad de que un enemigo nos dispare y el tiempo se ralentice y podamos esquivar la bala según la dirección en la que viene, es algo súper loco haha.

➤ Otra mecánica muy similar a Red Dead Redemption es el sistema de duelos, donde básicamente cumple la misma premisa, un duelo de revolers de vaqueros de toda la historia, aunque aquí para efectuarlo debemos mantener un nivel de concentración de la mira cerca de nuestro enemigo y también posicionar nuestra mano cerca de nuestra arma para poder desenfudarla más rápido, de nuestra propia rapidez depende ganar el duelo, y creanme que es bastante complicado porque son muy rápidos los enemigos, aún así, es una mecánica bastante disfrutable.

➤ Otra cosa que me encanta es la presentación de los jefes, en una especie de viñeta tipo comic que la verdad queda muy brutal. Hay muchas formas de enfrentarse a los enemigos lideres, personalmente me encanta la de los duelos y me desagrada un poco la más habitual que es pelear directamente contra ellos cara a cara a tiro limpio, lo cual me parece muy irrealista porque los jefes obtienen una barra de vida donde básicamente tendremos que darle como 20 tiros para poder matarlos, lo cual le quita mucho realismo e inmersión al juego, sobre todo cuando yo tengo que darle 20 tiros pero él a mí me mata de 3 tiros.

➤ También tenemos un sistema de niveles y habilidades donde podremos enfocarnos en mejorar las armas que más nos gusten, ya sean los revolvers, los rifles a distancia o las escopetas, son beneficios bastante buenos que nos ayudarán en todo el combate frenético que el juego tiene, ya que constantemente estaremos en disparos sin descanso, y dependerá mucho de nuestro nivel poder pasar los escenarios y de las armas que escojamos utilizar.

➤ Gráficamente el juego realmente no es tan bonito, pero para ser un juego de hace ya bastantes años aún se sigue viendo bien y jugando de manera fresca, tiene un estilo de gráficos algo cartoon, tal vez podría decirle, y con un filtro de colores que realmente no me termina de encantar, sobre todo en las zonas oscuras donde es muy difícil ver a los enemigos. Aún así se sienten bastante bien los gráficos aunque tal vez pudieron haber sido mejores, o al menos no haber utilizado ese estilo de diseño y ese filtro de colores.
