HEALTHY BENEFIT OF FASTING
Fasting is a rite practiced by religious groups as a mode of prayer to God, according to this rite, a person who is fasting is expected to stay without food or water for a specific period. In the Islamic religion, after eating in the morning (sahur), the individual is expected to abstain from food, drinks or any form of uncleanness from the time of the start of the fast until it is time to break the fast. While it is a similar practice to Christianity, Christians abstain from food or drink once it's already another day, it is expected of the individual who is fasting to study His Bible and pray fervently while fasting.

My experience I will never forget with fasting was a time I was in secondary school, i attended a boarding school and by the time I was in my senior class, I was called to serve as an official in the school's Fellowship of Christian Student (FCS) chapter. On a faithful day at our Fellowship, while we were praying one of the officials had a message to pass to us, according to him, the Holy Spirit ministered to him to instruct us to go on a week's dry fasting, meaning no food or drinks for a whole week with devoted prayers and the study of the word, it was the first time for me and I have never imagined myself to fast for this lent of time. It was a prayer session and all eyes were closed, but as soon as I heard him say those words, I got furious with him and opened my eyes widely to look at him and the congregation hoping to hear another person with a counter revelation but unfortunately for me, the place was quite with acceptance.
We all started the fast but on day 2, our patron had to advise us to make it a daily thing since we were in school and might not be strong enough for such a challenge snr he also advised those who could still on with it could ride on. Well, my homies broke our fast after our night prayers. The only person who went far with the dry fasting was our prayer leader you got to day 5.
Fasting is a healthy activity, as much as it is religious it also helps us health wise, it was a lovely experience and a spiritual cleansing period for me, I used to be a gluten but fasting has made me better health wise by loosing some weight. Although very challenging and I am sure you agree with me as well that I had a good reason for being furious, I was too young and I felt it was more than I could handle. whenever I look back to the experience, I am glad to have partaken in the fasting. and I encourage to fast once in while.

A week long fast 😀. I would have been rushed to the hospital by the 12th hour. As much as fasting helps us grow spiritually, it's also helps with mental strength and physical wellness. For people that can do it. Fasting once in a while would do your body and hormones Wonder.
