The trametes sanguinea mushroom is an interesting species of mushroom that belongs to the genus Trametes. This unique fungus is commonly known as the bloody fairy helmet or bloody crust fungus due to its striking red color and ability to secrete a red sap-like substance when touched or injured. Trametes sanguinea can be found growing on dead or decaying hardwood trees in forests throughout North America and Europe. One of the most distinctive characteristics of Trametes sanguinea is its very bright red color.
