In a democratic state where the rights and guarantees of citizens are above all else, freedom of expression is one of the main freedoms that has been achieved over time and one of the most important in our times.
We live in a global world where information reaches any part of the world in a second, and we must use our freedom of expression to communicate as human beings that we are, and we must not be afraid of the repercussions of transmitting our ideas, what we feel and our vision about something that we have before us.

For many years, freedom of expression has been oppressed in many places. Obtaining a right such as freedom of expression has led to countless wars and to many people being persecuted and killed just because they spoke and were not allowed to speak. This was one of the most difficult freedoms for the people to obtain.

In many countries where there are dictatorships, even today, people, despite thinking, are not allowed to speak in public. Despite being in the 21st century, many people in dictatorial countries still suffer from oppression. We can see many countries where dictatorships exist today, such as Russia, North Korea and many other countries where it is forbidden to express what we think. Many times, people who speak out against these regimes are persecuted, imprisoned and many even end up killed using very suspicious methods, including poisoning.

We all still remember, despite the fact that the concentration camps that decimated people and entire populations for years are now part of history, simply because they were not allowed to speak or breathe. Today, whenever any of our freedoms are questioned, we must look at history and learn from our mistakes as people and human beings. Not making the same mistakes again is and will always be a lesson that we must keep in mind. We must always remember how difficult it was to obtain these rights, and one of them, freedom of expression, must be protected as an asset and a right that belongs to everyone, regardless of their origin or religion. We must use our right to expression in a constructive but also critical way, knowing how to define our ideas in the face of something.

However, freedom of speech has a condition, which is that our freedom of speech should only end when we interfere with the freedom of speech of others. We must use speech to convey our ideas, but we must also know how to listen, and only then can we exchange ideas as people and human beings that we are. We must never give up our rights. Every day we must fight for them. Even after we have achieved them, we must remember how much it cost to get to this point and take certain rights for granted. Freedom of speech is one of the most beautiful forms of expression. We must preserve and cultivate it every day for the good of our society and for the good of our future.
