A new opportunity or not

Now here, my friends, is another topic that really tells me a lot, this topic has a very close character for me since, due to my profession, I am very involved in dealing with the criminal aspect and with the perpetrators of crimes, and their victims.
Before giving my opinion, we must always take into account one of the principles that exists in my country and in many countries that are democracies and that live in freedom, which is the motto "everyone is innocent until proven guilty".
In my country's penal code there are several rights and duties that people who are suspected of one or more crimes are assigned to.
Whenever a person is suspected of having committed a crime, they must be considered a defendant. This means that there is initial protection in the law for those people who, for example, are obliged to speak out about their identity and can- to remain silent about the facts imputed to him.

Regarding rehabilitation, when a person commits a crime, in my opinion, they should be fairly condemned, not only for what they did but also for the suffering caused by their act, of course there are countless crimes that not all have the same criminal severity, not even the same penal framework.
In most crimes, I consider that there are several factors that can lead people to commit crimes, such as social factors, people who have and were born with little education, and who often, due to their low-level social characteristics, can lead to them living in this criminal underworld, where many are enticed by others to become part of organized groups, with the expectation of earning a lot of money, or even to purchase drugs.
Another of the reasons for me that lead people to commit crimes is on a psychological level, when someone is not well psychologically, be it a birth problem or even bad phases that we all go through in life, we are more vulnerable to doing something we never imagined, the our adrenaline levels rise, there is almost a loss of memory, which leads us to have unplanned actions.

But I also believe that there are people whose way of life is this and they never wanted to leave, many of the people who commit crimes adopt this lifestyle, I've heard some say that they don't regret it, they steal, they destroy, etc., etc., and in the end they If they are caught, they are sentenced to a few days in prison and commit these crimes again.
We have to see that even prisons often do not serve as detention centers, but it is often the opposite, in these prison establishments there are often groups that fight among themselves, entering into a spiral of violence that when they leave prison they continue this illicit life until they return to prison again, it is the so-called snowball effect.
Rehabilitation in my country can involve different strategies such as doing community work, something for the good of the community, the age of the perpetrator being institutionalized, among other corrective measures.

I generally agree with the corrective measures but I have the idea that they must be proportionate and appropriate and I will give some examples, anyone caught setting fire to a forest should serve a prison sentence and before the summer starts they should go to work in cleaning the forest as a way to value nature and see the harm he did, thus trying to help in the area where he committed the crime.
Another example is a person who vandalizes the walls of a house with paintings or other materials or breaks something, these people should be ordered to clean up what they did and if they break something they should be the ones to rebuild what they broke.
This is my reading of the corrective measures I have.
Finally, remember that we are all human and corrective measures will not always make the perpetrators of crimes stop and commit them.
Many will manage to change their lives and embark on a life in society by being part of it, but there will always be people who live and want to live on the margins of society and these people, unfortunately, will have a hard time changing, but we must always maintain hope.

To beautify a society beautifully, it is essential for us to keep every individual with a reasonable assumption in mind. Those who are offenders should be given the opportunity to rectify themselves in such a way that they can come back to our society without causing harm to us again. We must take care in that direction. I really liked your extraordinary blog. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you for liking it, for me it is a subject that, due to my profession, I am familiar with and know how to understand and I have very own ideas about the topic

Very complete your post. the hope that a person will change their thinking and behavior will always be latent, but unfortunately due to factors of education or habit there are many who will not do it. This is why I maintain that if we think about giving people the opportunity to be rehabilitated, but we must also prevent and educate families and in schools, colleges and even universities, I think that's where the role of government comes in, if this were done conscientiously, of course the results would be seen in the medium term, would decrease the maintenance costs of prisoners in prisons, bad company, and rehabilitation costs in prisons.

For me, educating people is essential, it makes people grow as human beings and can be empowered with their attitudes.
Unfortunately, there will always be those who, despite this, do not want to educate themselves, but we have to have hope and provide education to those who really want to be rehabilitated, this is a good way, thank you for your opinion and for liking my post

Well said and articulated. The factors outlined are true. Thanks for sharing

If a person goes into crime for the reason of little to no formal education, then they should have to face the full wrath of the law. There's no justification for crime and certainly no pity for one that's so flimsy.
Overall, I think rehab will do some good.

Qualifications are not always the main reason for committing crimes, it is just a factor that exposes some part of these people, but of course there are crimes with a lot of studies and who attended good schools, just often the line that separates good and evil It's short these people went to the side of evil, but I believe that with will they will be able to follow the path of good
