Overflowing Floods Landa Bireuen Regency, Currently Five Villages are Submerged.

Heavy rains that hit Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, on Thursday, 6/10/2022, caused five villages to be submerged by overflowing floods.

The five villages that were flooded were Sukarame Village, Blang Kuthang, Cot Kruet, West Kuta and Leubu Me, Makmur District. The overflow flood was caused by the overflow of the Binthasa river, the water level reached 50-60 centimeters.

Water enters the residential area at around 18.15. WIB, currently there are 117 units of residents' houses that have been flooded, consisting of 177 heads of families from 468 people. Until now, the community still survives in their respective homes and there is no evacuation point.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Bireuen Cadets for Disaster Preparedness, Zulfikar, GA, in the Bireuen Disaster Preparedness Cadets disaster report, stated that the overflow flood had entered residential areas due to the overflow of the Binthasa river. There are 117 houses submerged, 117 families consisting of 468 people currently still survive in their respective homes.

Zulfikar added that his party is currently still monitoring the situation, if the water does not recede, it is likely that more houses will be flooded. In addition, hundreds of hectares of rice fields are also threatened with crop failure, this is due to the overflowing flood.

So far, there have been no fatalities in the disaster, but the rain continues to pour in a number of areas in Bireuen Regency.
