Pruning Our Cucumber Plants On Our Multi-story Garden Setup.

So, today we pruned the cucumber plants to help the plant grow well.

Pruning generally is an essential activity that should be carried out in the garden as it ensures that the plant grows well.
Running can be carried out in other plants like peppers, tomatoes etc.

Pruning in cucumber involve the removal of older leaves and side shoots to make the plant focus it energy on growing vertically

. For optimal results cucumber plant is best pruned when the vein at a decent size maybe 4-5 weeks after planting. If it is pruned too early it will make the plant not to develop properly, and the vine might be easily broken or damaged in the process of pruning.

Pruning in cucumbers have several advantages to the plants, as it ensure the plants;
• Focus it’s energy on the fruits that are forming
• Ensure optimal growth of the plant.
• To improve air circulation within the root zone.
• Also helps expose the flowers to pollinating insects like bees for pollination.

For our case we pruned the leaves by pinching it off the vine, this is an easy work because the leaves stock are soft and easy to go off. But it should be done carefully so as to to affect the main vine..
