Construction Of A Made-shift Hatchery Area, So I Can Control The Temperature.
Hello Hivers!!
Welcome to my blog!!
So, my catfish fries have been having little issues lately, and I strongly feel the temperature is really playing a big role in it.
I have been loosing catfish fries, because my unused kitchen I did the hatching is quite difficult to control the room temperature there. From my research, I learnt that catfish fry do well in temperature above 21°c and I have been having very low room temperature which I know will affect the water temperature, and besides we have been having nonstop rains this period which is making the while place very cold even for me as a human being.
So, I decided to construct a made-shift hatchery area made with wood and tarpaulin to cover the entire area so, I can conserve some amount of heat within the area so the water temperature won’t drop drastically to what the catfish fry can’t handle.
With this I, I can be able to heat the area up with a coal pot is it is too cold to increase the temperature of the room.
This time I changed the plumbing design of the hatchery container.
Before now the both container outlet was connected together but now I made them have separate outlet so in case of any disease outbreak in one it won’t affect the other and also the water inlet before had one control for both containers, now made both have separate control.
Hope this will improve the catfish fry survivability in the hatchery.

Thanks..
Woww
This is creative, Weldon!!
But wouldn't taking this project outside be more colder for the fries??
Yeah it might be..
But also have the intention of heating up the place if it does.and besides it's been covered everywhere so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks.
Oh well.
I hope this works out for you.
Yeah..
Thanks..
