If you land on a website somehow and it looks suspicious, you will be careful. You will not interact with that website and stay away from that. How about landing on a website that looks legit but that's a fake website created by fraudsters?
CEO of Uniswap Labs and the creator of the Uniswap protocol Hayden Adams was very surprised to see a fake Uniswap website. It shows that bad actors put their effort into making it look legit which will raise any doubt. You may not have any doubt looking at first glance.
Scammers provide Chinese community content on their fake websites and give links to the original Uniswap app. When you as a visitor click the link, it will redirect you to the original Uniswap app, so you will have more trust in the site.
A conference recording video was there on the website that was intended to increase credibility. Looks like they are from Uniswap holding higher positions. Hayden Adams, CEO of Uniswap Labs, does not even know those people on the video. He clearly mentioned that those people have no association with Uniswap or Uniswap Foundation.
It is shocking to see how far scammers could go to show something legit only to deceive people. Those scammers do everything to make people fall for the scam and get access to their wallets so that they can drain their crypto assets.
It is easy to make the mistake and interact with a scammer's website assuming that's the original one. The team of Uniswap works to decrease this kind of scam and takes down the domain of the fake website. Do you check out the URL before interacting with any website?

Checking the URL is always a good idea. In a way, those scammers are always making it harder. I think anyone can fall for them if you are not careful. It makes me wonder whether or not they could earn money using their skills rather than trying to scam people.
That's why it becomes difficult for people not to fall for their scams. I was wondering whether those scammers can sleep at night in peace stealing people's money. You're right. They could use their skills to make money in good ways.
