Stepping Trends!

I didn't manage to get out for any runs this week on account of being in London, but I have managed to get my daily 1OK plus steps in which all helps.

This is quite unusual as I normally dip below 10K steps on non run days, but not on this holiday week....

And it prompted me to do a little digging into my steps history on Garmin Connect, I can get data on my watch, but the screen is quite little, but I took the opportunity to actually log on to the Connect site and have a deeper look at my stats, and I'm happy enough...!

11.5K daily average...

This is pretty good for me, normally I do two three below 10K, one massive day of around 19K and then a few of around 11-12K to give me around, well 10K, the golden number.

It helped this week that it was sunny and we were out and about all over the place with a small child, running around helps for those steps!

Normal steps pattern...

This is over the last month, greens are typically running days, do 5K and with a warm up and cool down you're already at 7K steps, so 10K and then more is easy.

Whether I do 10K on non run days depends on what I'm doing, if I'm, working away and the hotel is 500 metres from the venue I'm working at there's practically no chance I'll walk 10K, especially in colder weather I'm not going to pace around just for the sake of 10K steps!

So I normally just settle for a couple of short days a week and make up the steps on other days.

Monthly...

I quite like this.... you can see that summer is more steps, Jan is the lowest, maybe no surprise there!

I'm almost on for a June monthly high record.... I could if i managed 20K steps a day for the next three days, tough ask, maybe I will, maybe I won't, it's tempting to push it!

On NOT running for a week final thoughts....

TBH I think it's a good idea to have an occasional week off, ideally only maybe two to four of these every year, probably at least two, and maybe not as much as a week every time.

But certainly a week gives yr leg muscles a decent chance to properly rest and recover and probably helps with keeping injuries at bay!

It's also nice mentally, I'm gagging to get back out there now!

If you're consistently running/exercising and enjoy it (which most who do it do) then a few days off can be good to remind one how much value they get (physically and emotionally) from doing the exercising. It's also nice to let the body recover a little and then to stress it on the next few runs a little. Show it who's boss.

Hello, @revisesociology !

Since running for me it's practically impossible due to my condition (MS), the only chance that I have to get the minimum step count goal is to walk everywhere I can. From home to Gym is my daily set, and for then on, maybe the supermarket, or even in better days, on a 16km walk to the beach side.
I was hopefully to regain again the capacity to run without stumping in the tip of my right foot, but I have to see the glass half full, right? I can walk without a major difficulty :)

Have a nice week in London. I've been there only once, and more then 30 years ago... OMG.. time passes so quickly. I have to think of a revisit trip to London!

Dear beloved Hive creator,

Coding poet Gudasol here to support you sharing your art + life on Hive.

As a fellow creator, I know how hard it is to get the word out there.

I built cXc.world to help creators like us get more support from the blockchain community + beyond.

Share your music on cXc.world, and copy the Markdown for a easy post includes embedded players for Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud.

That way, you can earn HIVE + stack streams on centralized platforms, as they do still matter.

Not a music creator? No problem. You can still use cXc.world to find + share music you love.

What's next?

Preview the next evolution of cXc, Tetra.earth.

Expose local music from your area!

We're helping grassroots musicians, and you can too by adding their music (no sign up or WAX account required).

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! 👋

We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.

For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
