Lessons in Patience!

The later part of 2023 has been one in which a few noticeable tings have taken somewhat lONGER than I'd have hoped!

And I've had to put into practice those fine of old arts of being patient, and letting things go!

House!

The main pain in my ass is the house in Portugal. This thing still hasn't sold, despite having been on the market for four months now.

This is mainly due to giving my friend back in Portugal a bit of time to sell it herself to avoid estate agent commission, but to no avail, and now it's listed, but at a higher price maybe than is realistic to soak up those commission fees which are now a thing!

Price is coming down next week, hopefully that'll finally shift it. If not, I'm just going to sell at a loss in January next year.

I don't need the cash imminently, but it would be handy to have!

Lands

Then there's Splinterlands - O.K. that's finally up and running, but I had kind of thought September, been chomping at the bit for this, and no banana.

At least with this I've had a bit more time to get my ducks in a row and get even better prepared with NEARLY (as anyone actually got enough?) sufficient DEC to power up the lands.

The final three things are more recent....

DBS check

I applied to do some voluntary work at this amazing space just 20 mins drive away called the Cart Shed.. it's basically outdoor wood crafts for people with mental health problems, but I'm just doing horticulture work, only a couple hours a week, it's a well-chill space to go hang out!

You would have thought it'd be easy to get people to let you work for free: but the DBS check took ages - I actually now need this for another job I've got - and the website said on Monday 'printing' - well that's a week ago and still no fucking certificate on my doorstep, have they fucking sent it 4th class post or something...?

They were paid for this, hard to let this go, it's getting silly now!

Drum!

Finally - I ordered a Djembe Drum online, it took that 10 days until delivery, FFS!

And lo - My delivery time (FINALLY) was between 12.50 and 13.50 last Saturday - which would have been great expect I leave the house at 12.30 to go.... drumming.

You couldn't write the script. So I had get that put back by another two days, that's relatively easy to let go... at least I had a set date for when to look forward to something!

ANNOYING: 20 minutes AFTER I leave... to go drumming!

Zing pooling and price...

I had been hoping to get into the Zing pool a bit more.. I did put in a little at first, but I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for another two weeks for the price to drop (of Zing) to allow me to pile in properly.

However the price of Zing has remained stubbornly resilient, and all I can do is sell into it. I think this is going to be the biggest long term win, I do love a pool, but it makes no sense to go into it now - it's just like buying Zing at a premium, so I have to wait, wait, wait, until some of the larger unstakes come through and get dumped.

Although with this, being about 2K HIVE up, I can't really complain, not bad for a fortnight.

On Waiting for Tings, Final thoughts...

It's been a theme this back half of 2022 for sure, so I guess two main lessons...

  1. Careful what you wish for... a delay may end up benefitting you more in the long run!
  2. It's a reminder to meditate and chillax more - slow down, take it slower and go with the flow!

It's a shame that barriers to volunteering can be discouraging.

Slowing down is definitely a good think. We're bombarded by this message to "hustle" but our lives are also passing us by as we hustle. We can make ourselves into scurrying creatures in our pursuit of better.

Whatever loss you have from selling the house, if it comes to that, you could more than make up with the expected crypto bull market.

Have fun with the djembe. I have one, but don't play it so much now. I used to be in a drum circle and did a few performances. It's a good mental exercise and I guess it could be like meditation.

Honestly, that drum circle is the highlight of my fortnight!

When I eventually sell the house I am going to buy a drum kit too!

Go for it! African drumming is valid for the Drumming community of course.

My friend has the same situation with you. He couldn't sell his house for 4 months and the house pricing has been going down as the interest rates increase every month.

Life is a step by step journey. To every rush comes consequences.

Cheers

Just like that if a person is patient in any matter of life then a person will definitely be successful now the way people who have been patient for the last two and a half years now the crypto market is going up and their time to make profit.
